Amazon are possibly the worst in my area , although it depends on the driver. I do have some actually ring the doorbell and wait a few seconds before abandoning the items, but more commonly they don't bother ringing and just drop the stuff near the door and it's marked as 'posted through letter box' before they even get back in their van. It doesn't mater what size the parcel is, even 24 cans of soft drink was apparently put through letter box.

I have taken this up with Amazon, I had a small handheld vacuum cleaner go missing early this year and they assured me courier had marked it as 'put through letter box' but unfortunately the photo was just a black screen - it wasn't until I pointed out that a small handheld vacuum cleaner couldn't be 'that' small to fit through a standard sized letter box. They never admitted fault, just said one would be with me next day- and one duly turned up - doorbell rang on that occasion but driver was back in his van before i got to the door and parcel was left propped up by door, clearly marked with the manufacturers name for all to see. .

Seems to be more common,  although the previous knock on the door was more a thud from the test equipment
hitting it.  At least it didn't come through the window in the door which was a single pane back then.

I must be lucky with DPD, they usually text around 7am with a time and they are 99% here at the start of that
time slot.  Seems they can be just as bad as the others in some areas.

I guess one way to get them to ring would be to fill in the "how was my delivery survey emails"

I constantly get parcels dropped at my door , stuffed behind the bin (and sometimes I'm in) , sometimes they are left right next to or on top of the parcel box I have, but not actually inside it, sometimes they seem to go out of their way and hide it in the garden but leave no card explaining where to find it

as long as I get the parcel I'm reasonably ok with it but sometimes it causes a problem and every now and then when it really annoys me I respond to the survey email (EVRI) and leave one star and explain why I wasn't happy

Good point, although I also occasionally remember fill in the surveys when people do a good job too, being specific about what they did well so they know we notice and appreciate it.  Even if they've done what should be the bare minimum of knocking/ringing and leaving it in a sensible/safe place!  I think it's good for the drivers to know that it does matter and it does make a difference, especially as it seems to be quite a thankless job - and useful for the company as well to know what customers value.

I live on a 1st floor flat - Evri twice now have just dumped and run my parcel on the communal stair - both times it has been stolen (one through eBay and the other Amazon).
My lesson learned buy at a store or make sure
A - Evri are not used
B- Use a pickup up point/local collection/locker to receive my items.

    Sorry rant over

Evri are terrible - they routinely knock and run away, leaving the package outside for anyone to take, or for the rain to get to.

On the flip side, Royal Mail have been great for me! My usual Postman knows I pop home for my lunch break at 12:30, so he delays any deliveries for me until then. On the odd occasion he's come earlier, I speak to him via my doorbell and ask to leave the parcel in a safe place, but he says no - I'll come back. And during my break he pops back to drop it off to me! Best service ever, and definitely on my Xmas list!
