Is there any way I can get Courier's to ring?

I've noticed there's a tendency to just leave the parcel at the doorway then walk away. This despite having a notice on the door asking couriers to ring. I know they are working against time, but it only takes a split second. I don't even expect them to wait of me coming to the door.
I can't find any page to insert instructions for eBay couriers and possibly some other types of deliveries on the relevant site.
Edit: By ring I don't mean ring my phone but ring the doorbell! as I've clearly stated on the notice on the door. As I've said it takes a split second.

I’d say no chance at all. You can track some of them, but if leaving a note on the door hasn’t prompted them then nothing else is likely to do so.
Have you considered a ring doorbell? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

I just don’t think that with the cheaper couriers , ie not speciality ones, that the business model supports them doing anything other than leaving parcels. They have virtually no time at all to do a lot, and adding a minute or two on every delivery to use a mobile to phone would be unworkable.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. It depends where you've got to leave it.
I was in my drive recently and the driver wouldn't give me the parcel as he needed a photo of it at the door. The best bet would be to make it impossible for them to leave it without ringing the bell..0 -
Do you mean ring the bell or ring a phone? My understanding is that all couriers should at least knock on the door to attempt secure delivery. Leaving in a safe place is the fallback where there is no answer surely?peter021072 said:I've noticed there's a tendency to just leave the parcel at the doorway then walk away. Ah, yes, I think I misunderstood the OP so my post is nonsense. If it’s just ringing the bell then I think that’s a reasonable expectation and I don’t really understand why some couriers don’t bother. I find Amazon quite bad about not bothering.savergrant said:

I've had doorstep dump and run from Amazon, Evri, Royal Mail and DPD... They all do it unfortunately!2

You can ask but no guaratee that any delivery person will ring, so the short answers is, no.Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid0

I know a lady who is an Evri courier and she literally runs up peoples driveways to drop parcels. She claims that if she walked she wouldn't earn enough money in a day to make it pay. I think she is paid something shocking like 40p per parcel delivered so I can understand why they drop and run.0

Despite the parcel box, most deliveries are still left on my doorstep. :-(1
