Long story short my daughter needs to provide a statement to prove her wages have gone into her account today - needs to show her name and address so mobile app only shows previous statements without the transaction she needs on it - the nearest branch is miles away - are we missing the ability to do this with online banking. I have just been on my Nationwide a/c and its the same - a current transaction list doesn't show my name and address - can anyone help? please!

No banking app will show this and statements are generated monthly or quarterly retrospectivly, that's how banking works. A copy of a previous statement showing the address and the sort code and account number along with a screen or scroll shot from the Santander app showing the same sort code and account number and transaction should be enough for someone to cross reference the information is genuine and relating to the same account.4

If you try to take a screenshot from the Santander (Android) app all you get is a totally black rectangle, as with most banking apps screenshots are suppressed for security reasons.huw01 said:No banking app will show this and statements are generated monthly or quarterly retrospectivly, that's how banking works. You'll have to take a photo or video with another device, and if you do a video it will have greater impact.2 -
Starling lets you generate a full statement at any time you like, for any period you like. It’s one of the reasons why I hold this account in a semi-dormant state. It won’t help the OP/their daughter with their current issue though. Best they can do is call Santander to discuss how Santander can help.huw01 said:No banking app will show this and statements are generated monthly or quarterly retrospectivly, that's how banking works. I can make screenshots of my Santander transactions alright (on iPhone). There’s no name and address on them though so probably no use for the OPAyr_Rage said:

A PC a screenshot does show the name at the top and the account details. This will do the job combined with a previous statement with the same account details and showing the address.I guess this will be the same in a mobile browser (instead of the app).1

Hmm... My Lloyds app lets me request a statement (not a transaction list) at any time, and transactions seem to appear on the generated statement very quickly.huw01 said:No banking app will show this and statements are generated monthly or quarterly retrospectivly, that's how banking works.
e.g. I made an online purchase yesterday morning, which showed pending when I first checked. Later that day, the transaction showed as cleared, and was listed on my October statement. Certainly no waiting until the end of the month/quarter.
I assume the other LBG apps will be the same.
I can't comment on Santander, as I don't use them, but it's certainly not the case that 'no banking app will show this'2 -
Thanks everyone - she is going to have to go to a branch and I hope they can help prove her wages were paid in by printing an up to date statement - it does seem crazy that in this day and age of technology that this is a problem with financial institutionsThe mind is like a parachute. It isn't so much a problem unless you are only able to use an app, normal online banking will allow you to print your last statement with your full details and/or take a screenshot of current transactions.littleredhen said:Thanks everyone - she is going to have to go to a branch and I hope they can help prove her wages were paid in by printing an up to date statement - it does seem crazy that in this day and age of technology that this is a problem with financial institutions1 -

You can print or screenshot a Santander statement from the app, just like you can do online. But whether you use online or app, the statements are produced at a set date each month, based on account opening date. So you might have to wait up to a month to see a given transaction on your statement.
All transactions will obviously show immendiately on the transaction list but this, and a screenshot of your transactions, does not show your name and address.1
