I have closed many Santander accounts, including Edge Savers and can confirm that closing via Sandi typically takes 4-5 days, but if you want it to be done more quickly then phoning invokes a 2 day turn around, and if your need is pressing and the account is empty, with no interest due or SOs/DDs, then 2 hours.

When phoning the CS agent is obliged to complete a form and pass it directly to the Back Office team.

Try closing it again.

In the past, I've had a couple of occasions where I requested closure and it just didn't happen.

closed again about 6am this morning. either very fast or the original request kicked in which i think more likely but accounts closed and new account open, 9 days, although i guess it's still "within" 5 working days if you exclude day of request.
