Painting/Decorating - Turps?

Does anyone know if Turpentine is not being sold anymore?

I have been painting and need it to clean brushes etc but can't find it anywhere.
I got in a right mess trying to clean brushes and hands in soapy water after using what I understood to be "water based" Dulux one coat satin wood.
I thought  "water based" meant just that, and not oil based!!!!
Anyway, back to my question, where on earth can i find Turps?

Have you tried using a search engine like "Google" or "Bing"?

Barrettine Genuine Turps 500ml - Paint Direct for the real stuff

https://countyonline.co.uk/barrettine-turps-substitute-750ml? for the cheaper petroleum solvent substitute.

Many will use 'white spirit' as a solvent-cleaner.

water based paints don't usually need turps or white spirit for brush cleaning. A brush cleaning comb and warm water usually cleans them up fine.

Yes, "water-based" means exactly this - and in this case you don't need any Turps or other solvent.
However, I do see various "Dulux one coat satin wood", e.g.

Are you sure it was water-based?
I used Zinsser Allcoat W-B yesterday, and the brush washed put instantly in cold water.
Could we see the label, please?

It can be a bit messy, always surprising how much paint needs to be washed out.
I do it in a sink and after the first couple of goes in soapy water, I then rinse under clean running warm water until eventually it runs clear.
If it is water based , using turps or similar , will not work.

Should tell you on the tin about the cleanup.
Treat yourself to a paint brush and roller spinner. Saves a lot of time cleaning your Purdy/Wooster tools.

Water-based paints are cleaned with water and if you look on the turn it will tell you what to do after you have painted EG wash your brushes in water

if it is oil-based then you should look for white spirit not turps

I used white spirit after I got in a mess with soapy water. That did nothing either. The brush sat in the white spirit for a day and it didnt remove any paint at all.

The soapy water left my hands and brush really tacky like I had used gloss paint.
I managed to clean up as i had the smallest bit of turps left in the garage.

The back of the tin said to use brush cleaner (didn't check before as B&q said it was water based) so I can  only presume it is solvent based.

If it says clean the brush with Polycell brush cleaner it won't be a water based paint.
