MET Mcdonalds parking fine - left premises but friend ordered something

£100 fine, reduced to £60

tried to speak to manager but because i actually did leave premises he cant overturn.

On what grounds can i appeal? I must’ve misread the signage but if my mate has the bank statement of what he ordered does that help?

There is no fine it's an invoice from private parking company trying a scam, they do this all the time at McDonald's.
You certainly do not say you left site, they are unlikely to have any evidence, they even pretend to have knocked on the doors of the toilets, it's laughable!
Is there a plan of "the site" is there a line telling not to cross, did they send a video of the event or photos?
You should have told the manager you were bona fide customers being harassed by their profit hungry scamming parking company and to get it cancelled.

You were given good advice by @James_Poisson above.  If you don't want to do that then read the NEWBIE sticky about appealing using the standard blue template.

Either is a valid tactic.  Appeal will be futile and a claim is likely but it won't reach a court hearing.

I’d go back to the manager, point out that you were indeed bona fide customer who spent money in their venue which you won’t be doing in future And yes, they absolutely can cancel it if they choose to do so.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

In paragraph 3 of my post above I asked three questions you have not answered but keep you asking questions!
Why do you keep reiterating I left site, what proof have they shown?
    What do the signs say?
What does the newbies thread tell you to do?
Why are you letting dim scammers wind you up?
    You are over thinking this.
The signage will most likely say:
"This car park is for the use of McDonald's customers while on the premises"
    You said:
    "...friend ordered something"
So the terms listed were complied with.
There has only been one leaving site claim that made county court, and that ended in near disaster for the legal that attended with the judge threatening her with a couple of nights at "Her Majesties Pleasure". No one has gone there since.

you are giving them to much credit, tell him that you and your family / friends will not be using their services because  of the added charges and do it ! Why any one risks using a Big Mac is beyond me ......
