Cancelling O2 Direct Debit

Good morning,
I have just moved from O2 to Lebara, everything went through on 24 September.  I paid O2 my usual DD on 23 September (assuming this was for the month of September)  Today they have refunded me 0.08p and email gives a link to View this Bill, however, I am unable to access my O2 account to check my final bill as it says `I don`t have any products or services in this MyO2 account`.   It seems very odd as I thought I would have access to my final bill.

Anyone who has moved from O2, please could you tell me if this is all you receive from them and does it mean I can cancel my DD?  They have made it so confusing, but I definitely do not want to pay them any more money.  Thank you so much

Leave your DD in place for another month then cancel.

Can't help with the O2 account access but I suspect that you will have another refund to come but will have to wait for another billing month to get it, so don't cancel that DD yet.

Bill issued around 15th of month will be for the period 15/09 to 15/10 (you pay in advance), you've ended the contract on 24/09 so will be refunded for the period 25/09 to 15/10 (assuming you used a PAC to move your number to Lebara). They'll raise the bill around 15/10 which will trigger the refund to be paid sometime after.

What that 8p is, not a clue.

I also moved from o2 to Lebara last month. I was not on contract but paid monthly by DD for my PAYG package.

I got a text saying they were due to take my next payment as usual so rang to see what was happening. I was told that there would be no payment taken as they could see my number had been ported.

However, they took payment the following day and then refunded it 3 day later saying no more payments would be taken,

Thank you so much both of you.

I have just managed to access O2 (don`t know how)

    Bill date  7 September
Sim only Plan :   7 Sept 25 to 6 Oct 25  total due £4.79  (I paid this DD on 22 Sept)

    Next bill dated:  7 October
Sim only Plan Affiliate   25 Sept to 6 Oct      -£1.92
    Other charges & adj
Termination fee 25 Sept to 6 Oct                   £1.84       credit due  -0.08p

So could I be correct in assuming that this is my final bill even though it doesn`t say that as cannot see why they would want any or money from me and doesn`t look like they are going to refund me any more.

Thank you again for any advice you can offer.

Looks like you are right, mentions a termination fee so that's probably the final bill.

Does make me wonder though, if you were getting a full-fat service from O2 (free EU roaming, O2 Priority, Wi-fi calling etc) for £4.79 a month, why on earth would you want to move to Lebara?

    More data? Serious freebie offer?

Thank you, I`m going to cancel my direct debit, I appreciate your reply

Moved to Lebara because we have had quite a few problems with O2, one taking 9 months to rectify, their customer service is definitely not the best (we had 3 accounts with them).

Lebara is a lot cheaper, we appreciate that we will have to look for another deal in 8 months but so far no complaints and it offers everything we need.  We had a very small 1gb of data on our O2 accounts for £4.79 (daughter had more but paid more) we all now have 50gb for £1.20 a month for 8 months. (it was a MSE offer)

To be fair, Lebara also has free EU roaming, and the O2 priority has had zero of use for years now.. all 5% off something i'll never buy and entries into competitions. Gone are the days of free coffees and lunches every week.

If you can get 5x the data at a virtual network (which I'd actually use) then I'd take it.

Thank you all for your help.  Direct debits to O2 being cancelled on 2 account, have to wait for my daughter to pay her bill in a few days to be hopefully refunded next month.

    Hi, sorry me again.

My husband has just received this email from O2, his last bill dated 7 Oct for period 26 Sept to 6 Oct bill showed the termination fee (the same as mine) and they have refunded him .07p.  He ported his number to Lebara on 25 September. Not sure what to do as don`t want to set up a new DD as we don`t owe them any money.

Has anyone else received this from O2, never again will I go near this company.

We have been notified by your bank of a change in the status of your direct debit details and therefore we have cancelled your current mandate. To discuss your O2 account further please call us on 0344 809 0202 Or you can update your Direct Debit details using the following link http://www.o2.co.uk/myo2

    Thank you

The advice is not to cancel the direct debit until you receive a final bill.

Because line rental is charged in advance, you might receive a credit for unused time. Other use is charged in arrear.

So your final bill may mean they owe you money or you owe them.

I'd you've cancelled at the bank then they cant do a direct credit or debit
