I need advice weather I have any defence if I leave this fine and take it to court. Due to being falsely promised by the land lord on the phone saying he would pay my ticket due to me giving his son a lift I didn’t pay or appeal the ticket(he never payed) I didn’t get a ticket and I stayed over by 1 minute 6 seconds ( due to his son not being ready to leave) I never left the car and the engine was always running i entered the car park at 18:17:45 and left at 18:28:51 due to just a 1 minute six second over stay my original ticket was £100 and as I was told it would be covered I never went through the original appeal process and have just been issued a letter from dcbl wanting £170 saying I have no chance to appeal no my next chance will be if they take me to court I can defend myself there. Can anyone help do I have any defence what shall I do I have until midnight tonight to pay the £170 or possibly go to court.

There is no fine, you have a speculative invoice from a scummy parking company DCBL are not entitled to load on another £70, you certainly do not pay them for doing nothing but sending scary silly letters.Have a read of the Newbies thread at the top of this forum it's all explained there, going to court is far better outcome where an impartial judge would decide on the merits of your defence anyway, not some scamming parking company and a biased sham appeals service.Stay with this forum and don't let the idiots at DCBL scare you, bu don't ignore any real court papers the world will not collapse at midnight!1

Do I have any defence there though with my situation I’m in.0

you have not been fined, you do not have a penalty.
whose car park was this? From the Plain Language Commission:
"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"1 -
Your defence ( if required ) is written for you in the defence template thread in announcements near the top of the forum by coupon mad
These cases are usually discontinued just before the court hearing fee deadline looms, where they have to put up or shut up
So we will assist you if you need the help
So do not pay powerless debt collectors, ignore them, especially DCBL
There is no fine, Magistrates issue fines, but aren't involved in private parking company cases1 -

Await the claim form and defend it.
You'll never "go to court" unless the PPC is Excel, VCS or TPS (I think they are the only ones whose arrangement with DCB Legal includes attending court hearings).
Which PPC?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Post 1 thread title says it was Parking Eye using ANPR cameras
Name the location where this happened
Ideally post pictures of the signage on that private property, so we can read the terms and conditions
Post redacted pictures of both sides of the first NTK PCN letter, after hiding your name and address, the VRM details and the pcn reference too, so no personal information but leaving all the dates and times showing , plus the location2 -
@Coupon-mad hi Thankyou for responding what do you mean by PPC0

@Gr1pr location: George and dragon tarvin I don’t have pictures of signs when I was there as it was a year go. I’ve attached all 3 letters I have got. I don’t still have the letters I’m quite young and have learnt a valuable lesson from this in making sure I keep a paper trail of everything and copies instead of believing the landlord in this case saying he would sort it and he hasn’t.0
