Yes, you can connect a PC or Laptop via HDMI and watch it that way.

If you only want a small TV (40") with Freely, all the streaming and catchup apps, this is not a bad shout.

Netgem and Humax are shortly releasing boxes that can add Freely to older TVs. The Humax is also a PVR.

The BBC are planning a small box to add Freely to any TV but this won't see the light of day for some time.

I'm starting to doubt something I posted earlier, do you know if the Freely service uses a terrestrial/freesat feed for (some of) its content or is it entirely on-line sourced?

Sould say I have it up and running and I'm still not sure.

Anyone tried watching  Sky Go from PC/ Monitor to TV via HDMI ?
I would see if the Sky Go app is available on the smart TV first

AFAIK there are no TV's with a Sky Go app. The Go in the title is a clue, it's primary use is for mobiles, tablets and laptops. Not sure they would want to compete with themselves for TV customers.  Sky apps system requirements | Sky Help | Sky.com | Sky Help | Sky.com
Personally when I used it in the Home Cinema set up a few years ago I used a PlayStation to host it, Xbox works as well.

Hi, Freely can be used with or without a terrestrial feed.

If a channel isn't  available through an aerial (or there's no aerial) then the stream occupies it's place in the EPG.

(Not all the channels have streams but the main ones do)
