But the issue here was whether the quote was realistic or too high. Does Heat Geek Central monitor the quotes of HG operators? The only way I can see to check would be to send another HG operator to see if they gave broadly the same quote without knowing what the first quote had been.

Agreed. I initially dealt with one local Heat Geek approved company and the quote they provided was £13,500. I wasn't too impressed with the estimate or their communication, so tried a different Heat Geek and the price was £5,300! They turned out to be excellent and I'm very happy with the installation.
