You can do these things anytime after you start your switch.Zekko said:Do the following three actions need to be done after the switch is complete, or during the same month the switch is complete?
1. Download app and login
2. Deposit £1,000
3. Five Debit Card transactions1 -
I could potentially do this. No previous history with TSB. I have three accounts, Chase, HSBC, and Nat West. None of these I want to close.
So presume the best way is to open another chase account and then switch that . Does it take long to open one, when you already have one? Will it be a problem to open it, and close/switch it straight away?0 -

I cant comment on Chase but when i opened another current account with Lloyds it was instant (i did the process online)I have a tendency to mute most posts so if your expecting me to respond you might be waiting along time!0 -

Hope ive done this right.
Ive just filled in the online forms and applied.
Awaiting to be approved.
I have created a login & password as part of the application just now but need to wait 7 days for an Activation code before i can login for online digital banking.
Then i think i need to log into my new TSB account once its been approved and I've received my activation code, and then there must be a form where i request to "Switch"
As i haven't been asked for any exiting bank details so farI have a tendency to mute most posts so if your expecting me to respond you might be waiting along time!0 -
Opening a new Chase current account is instant. Opening and switching it out straight away is currently not a problem but that may change in the future if they feel too many people are doing it.eastcorkram said:Does it take long to open one, when you already have one? I'm in the same position as you. I presume I'm not meant to transfer any money in to the new account until the activation code is received. So I'll wait for that in the post.singhini said:Hope ive done this right.

As i haven't been asked for any exiting bank details so farWere you immediately given new account number & sort code when you initially applied online? (i wasn't, i just got an email saying thanks for applying and we will start to process your application and you will hear from us shortly).it did allow me to create online login details which im waiting an activation code for.Did you have to supply any identification when you applied? (i didn't, it just asked me basic questions like name, address, employers details, income & expenditure). However before you actually click the button to fill in the application it did say i would need ID like driving licence or passport)I have a tendency to mute most posts so if your expecting me to respond you might be waiting along time!0 -
It didn't ask for ID at all, which I thought was odd.singhini said:eastcorkram said:

Yes, I have the sort code , account number. It's a bit misleading though, as it says you can use the account straight away, but then says I need an activation code, which I won't have for 7 days.
I'll just leave it now, and wait for the code, and then see about doing the switch.1 -
I received this offer via email today, encouraging me to switch and make my TSB account (the last 4 digits is quoted, so not general spam) my main account and get £150 for it.
It's a bit naughty, as nowhere does it say you cannot get it if you have had a bonus previously (which I have had) unless you check the T&Cs on the website. I am sure a few people will be taken in by this 'offer'.1
