New MSE Octopus tariff that is nowhere to be found on the page?

They're probably the "best" of the big suppliers.

They used to have excellent customer service (and their adverts focus on that). That's slipped considerably in recent years; over the same period they've grown from ~500k customers to ~5M, and they've not managed to maintain their standards. But I'd say they're still better than average.

Their regular tariffs aren't as competitive as they used to be but they have a good range of smart tariffs. If you've got the right sort of equipment - one or more of storage heaters, heat pump, EV, solar PV - they are likely to save you money.

I switched through the latest block switch last week and was not sure about the new tariff being charged so I tried to check the Money Saving Octopus rates. It was not easy to find as mentioned.

I finally traced it via the Cheap Energy Club listing and I appear to be correct. The MS Octopus rates listed are:
Electricity Peak 30.18p per kWh  Off Peak 12.92p per kWh Standing Charge 49.51p per day - VAT Inc
Gas 5.32 kWh Standing Charge 33.22 per day VAT Inc

Octopus are now charging me for electricity 26.12p per kWh Flat rate, no off peak with Standing Charge 52.71p per day VAT inc according to my on line account which is definitely headed Money Saving Octopus.

Has anyone else had similar problems with this switch?

Were you expecting to be put onto the Economy 7 version of the tariff?

Do you have a meter that's suitable for E7 (a smart meter or a legacy dual-rate E7 meter)?

Doyou have eg. storage heaters that can make use of the cheaper offpeak rates?

If the answers to all of the above are "yes", you should contact Octopus and ask to be put onto the E7 version of their tariff, not the single-rate one.

Yes to all...well for storage heaters read hot-tub (retirement gift... don't ask). I will follow up with Octopus. Thanks
