New MSE Octopus tariff that is nowhere to be found on the page?

Hi all,

I am due to either renew or switch my tariff. I am currently with Octopus on their Octopus 12M Fixed October 2024 v2 tariff.

I am on a day/night tariff, but have asked for a single-rate option as it seems that I am actually wasting money on the day/night one.

The quote that Octopus have offered to me was under tariff code
OE-FIX-12M-25-09-27 with the following rates:

Electricity
25.75 p per kWh
50.20 p per day standing charge

Gas
5.88 p per kWh
33.22 p per day standing charge

However, when looking at all current rates on the Octopus page, I stumbled upon this tariff which wasn't there a couple of days ago:

Money Saving Octopus 10M Fixed September 2025 v1

Description states "
Get peace of mind by fixing your rates with this MSE exclusive tariff. This tariff has an exit fee of £25 per fuel."

Electricity
24.88 p per kWh
50.20 p per day standing charge

Gas
5.32 p per kWh
33.22 p per day standing charge

This is cheaper that what I am being offered, but I am unable to find this tariff via the Cheap Energy Club search or anything similar.

Am I missing something blatantly obvious? Thanks in advance

Cheaper tariff aimed at new customers, listed on all tariff page as all tariffs have to be available to existing customers albeit with exit fees to deter some existing customers from changing to that tariff.

Contact Octopus asking to change to that tariff if you wish to.

Seems simple enough, I'll get in contact with them before October starts and this is no longer available, ha

    Many thanks

Suggest contacting them ASAP. ask if new tariff can start when existing tariff finishes or make decision whether or not to start new tariff for either/both fuels immediately being as seemingly very appealing gas rate.

This is the new tariff as part of MSE's collective deal. See this week's Martin email.

Yes, you are missing alternatives to Octopus. Had the same tariff and just moved to Outfox. Loyalty doesn't pay.

Also British Gas 14 month fix offered as part of collective switch was stated to be 4.9% cheaper than Octopus 10 month fix based on so called typical average use.

I'm with Octopus. I tried this morning via MSE - it's there but you have to go through the rigmarole of replacing one's existing DD with a brand new one, with enforced different dates and auto-calculated amounts. I would then later in October have to change the payment dates to suit me and the amounts to suit me (I'm in credit by hundreds which I'm actively reducing, and I pay after my pension is paid) and then there's Octopus's caveat that my existing DD might have to be paid anyway (meaning two payments in October). I can't be bothered.

I suppose I'll be told I should phone them but - guess what - I can't be bothered.

It's paying me quite nicely - I averaged under 15p/kWh for electricity last month on octopus!

No longer showing on all tariff list, stated to be limited to certain number of switchers hence exit fees to deter some existing customers.
Just checked, and it's showing on the Our Tariffs' page (it wasn't when I checked yesterday)...
