Today I am grateful for our Dr and everything he's doing for pip, for finding everything I needed at sainz ( even though it cost an arm and a leg!), for doing some crafting, for a good phonecall with an official body, for good coffee, for going down interesting rabbit holes online.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!6

Tonight I am grateful that day 2 of the in-laws visit is over. Only another 4 to go. I will survive! Glad I bought a bed and set it up in the living room for them. They have nothing to complain about. At all. I am finally getting the hang of outwitting them.
99p spend today in Sainsbugs on sausage rolls and parked in their carpark so I didn't have to pay £2 to park when I was volunteering. Plus I got sausage rolls for lunchboxes next week. Bonus!
Good deeds done, tissues supplied for those who were distressed. Everyone left happier than they came in.
A good day.4/10/25Three Years Mortgage Free Yay!

Have a great time away @DawnW. You have my sympathy @f0xh0les, plan something nice to celebrate once they've gone. You could have a just because they've left party. I once had a just because it's the summer holidays party, or a special tea, just because it's a Sunday 😀
Wore the pads off all my fingers this morning! Scrubbed a wall with sugar sosp for 45 minutes, rinsed it, then went over the mouldy bits with watered down bleach, then rinsed again.
Decided to go to town after dinner, for a break. Dropped the signed paperwork off, then walked 5 miles with a friend.
After tea j painted the wsll, then went over the other 2 with a bigger roller. First tin of paint is used up now! One more cost of the last wall & it'll be finished!!! 🎉🎉 Can't wait to put everything away again, though will have to find new places for a lot of it, so it's not cluttered again.
My head teacher phoned to say a teacher having palliative care had died yesterday. Then work bestie shared that her stepdad has been diagnosed with a terminal illness 😓
Grateful for my health, another paperwork frog being processed, time with a friend, light at the end of the decorating tunnelUse it up, wear it out

Hugs, thriftyToday I am grateful for my gym session, for winning the battle against the very big and bushy jasmine in the front garden, for getting a 'hello' from a neighbour who doesn't usually say anything, for how much fairy lights cheer a room up, for dh finding some low noise and silent fireworks, for sunshine after the storm, for Pip filling in and sending off a form as soon as it arrived. Thanks @apple_muncher. Sounds like you've had a good day. I love the smell of jasmine.
Dropped DS³'s GF home, then looked in a CS. Felt pleased with myself, that I only bought one book. Had picked something else up, but put it back. Stopped at another CS to buy a mug with a robin on for DH, saw 3 more every day mugs inside, so had them too. Our mugs keep disappearing upstairs!
Met work bestie & we walked 4.5 miles. I treated her to a drink & sausage roll, & we sat by the pier head on a bench to eat it.
DH had painted the last coat on the last wall, so the afternoon was spent putting nearly everything back! Found 3 bags of things set aside to sell, friend showed me how to use V1nted, so will give it a go. Pleased with how my bedroom looks, but have piles of things to sort through & get rid of more.
Watched TV & knitted after tea. Should sleep well tonight!
Grateful for a breezy walk & catch up, my head teacher checking I was ok, my pretty bedroomUse it up, wear it out

            Day 3/6 survived.
Day 4/6 has begun by dropping DH at the train station. He will return after 7pm.
Tried taking his parents for a walk yesterday. Did about a mile and a half and they were complaining of aches and pains.
Realised they talk a good game, but are much less capable/mobile than previously.
I will have to make a tactical cheesecake today. Distraction is the better part of riot control.4/10/25Three Years Mortgage Free Yay!

Lurgy came back, got worse, yesterday I sat on the couch shivering and shaking. Too too boring , so I've not posted. Tried to post a short post the day after I lost the long post and lost that too - I have a stack of stuff but not sure I'll get it posted.
This morning I'm (fingers crossed) symptom free. Whilst ill I have done a shopping trip and got books from the library, done washing and some washing up, ate fruit, soft sandwiches and tinned soup (but also had takeaways - fish and chips on Thursday and spicy chicken with healthy sides last night). I have no idea on NSDs, how much I've spent (but still within my cash budget).
I'm going to do another COVID test and may consult with d-o-l about next week's Baptism. I'm wearing a mask every time I go out (may add nitrile gloves). I found the dress I wanted to wear, it fits (may not be room for a bra) and has been washed, I have malachite beads and olive shoes.
I've been sent a phone reminder for an appointment I'd forgotten about. I'm going to do another COVID test but will try to keep the appointment as I've postponed twice (my Friday appointment is a higher priority). I'm going to buy a mid price cardigan to go with my dress (making 4 different shades of green) so won't need anything else for the Baptism (and they can get me an uber home after the ceremony if they think I will endanger anyone else by going to the 'do').
 Today and tomorrow
Finish off the washing and washing up, take all the rubbish and recycling out to the bins. COVID test and decision on early appointment. If I'm okay I will try to add on shopping for some essentials (otherwise will do online shopping for certain items). Set up my trolley with medications/ books/ support items and essentials. Hopefully this will clear the floors.
 Rest of the Week
Lots of rest following the early appointment and in preparation for Fridays appointment and The Baptism. Insoles - already paired, need to match/ insert them into trainers and wellies. This should mean I can walk and stand more easily and for extended time. Work on paperwork - appointments to my new diary, phone numbers in address book and phones (new doctor's phone number). Add in bits of shopping where possible - Friday appointment has an M & S inside the hospital, our Iceland is closing and I have 4 x £5 off a £25 spend (will give those 2 one each as well - tall freezer has 3 empty drawers). Use up food we have, shop for easy options with health benefits. Make plans - so many things I wanted to do, find some easy options - exhibition at library, healthy eating and supplies for bad days, clothes purge - donate/ discard.
Grateful for easing of symptoms, easy food (finished off half a jar of pickles yesterday including the vinegar), the jumper wrapped around my head, new series and old familiars, books, sleep, bedding and clothing layers, not getting the threatened snow.
