Have a great evening Valli.Strands - hopeless, lots of hints - one line on Connections, so hopeless again, but Wordle in three. The September Challenge taught me A LOT about my attitude to housework and keeping the place looking one step up from a slattern's hovel. Quite apart from all the jobs that needed doing that finally got done, it's also changed my mindset about leaving things until later, so much so that I've been doing several small jobs a day and realising that most of them only take a few minutes. I'm seriously hoping I can keep up the progress I've made over the past three weeks.However. Neither the yard nor the freezer got tackled. Just not feeling either of those tasks today. Channeling Scarlet O'Hara. What I did do was book two day trips to France, one to Roscoff in a couple of weeks with the car so Belovéd can pick up all the wine he needs to see him through a few weeks/months, and the other to St Malo which will be a new destination to us, although I sailed there many a time in my wildly mis-spent and thoroughly enjoyable youth. That one's carless, but Belovéd is already working out how many bottles we can carry back to the ferry from the supermarket. I foresee a French taxi in our future. Good thing it's the same word,so that's a start. I reckon most French taxi drivers would recognised 'Brittany Ferries s'il vous plait.' Hope so, or we're in trouble.

I think Motivation is the magic word I need to work on this next month - I didn't have any in September. I am the only one doing any housework here so it is slow going. A little bit at a time has been my aim. I just keep repeating to myself "If it is to be, it is up to me".6

Morning all - can't sleep so am slurping tea & making lists
Wednesday is bathroom day, plus usuals, HHI & HHG (yesterday's HHG turned into an hour & a half)
Things I REALLY MUST sort out this week - first one is leftover from previous 'really must' lists
• HMRC tax return - NOW URGENT
• Put rest of bulk-buy laundry/cleaning supplies away
• Collect my prescription
• Order mum's prescription
• Plant rest of autumn/winter/spring plants & bulbs
I'll probably conk out later 🥱🛏😴"I started out with nothing
And still got most of it left"

Simply Red were simply brilliant. What a concert! Well worth waiting for plus our seats were at the back of our section so I could stand up and dance - and I did!

Kazwookie, I love my Dy$0n stick bagless thingy, which I got from the online shop as a return or reconditioned or whatever through the Bay of E if my memory serves. I've replaced the battery and the waste bin but it's still going strong. Belovéd has a Dy$0n ball vacuum thingy which he loves, and if it gave up the ghost I would buy him another one because if the chap is willing to do the vacuuming he can have whatever tools he wants. Apart from the cordless thing I only ever buy them secondhand/reconditioned from a local chap but there's usually a project somewhere around that does them. What I really dislike is the v@x cordless thing. The batteries are great, the tools are great but it weighs a ton. I got it on an MSE offer a few years ago so I grit my teeth and drag it round the top floor of the house and the crevice tool is useful but I'd much rather not have it if I'm honest. If you're down this way you can pick it up and do us both a favour!

Afternoon all. One load of washing dried outside and a second load nearly there. Shopping delivered this morning and put away, some stuff not available but we're going out tomorrow morning so I can look then. Went over to the chemist and got my flu jab and DH had flu and covid. I'm not quite old enough for the Covid one this yearGot to pick my DGD4 up from school in a little while. That means it's Wednesday! And she stays here for tea and sometimes I get to watch Bluey......she's getting a bit old for it now but she indulges me sometimes.Hope everyone's OK x5

Bathroom done, including thorough clean of the shower screen using evil V!@k@l - it was the rose scented one so smell not as pongy as the original. It's got rid of all the limescale and smeary bits - yay.
HHI not done, I'm flagging now - going to prep tea, then eat tea, then zzzzzzz"I started out with nothing
