Evening all.
Today I
- did WMx3, but only the first load (lightweights) dried outdoors, the heavier stuff just hung there limply and I had to finish it off in the TD
- did 5 minutes ironing: 2 cross stitch bookmarks and one card picture, plus 3 tea towels which I've had for years but they're still as good as new (I don't do much drying up either!)
- divided Xmas puds mixture between 4 aluminium baking cups (will serve 2 with custard) and 3 small pudding basins (will serve 4-6 each); the small ones and one larger have been cooked for hours in the SC, the second basin is in overnight, and the last one will be done tomorrow
- PUPA in various rooms
- re-made DH's bed with clean bedding, with a just little help from him
- sorted the recipe books on the kitchen bookshelf and took out 3 large and 4 thinner for the CS or next NT visit; DH decluttered one of his baskets , but took about 7 magazines into the man-cave rather than throw them directly in the recycling
- cobbled together end-of-the-month meals; didn't enjoy the venison hot dogs from MrAl so unlikely to repeat the experiment
- played with Rosie
- sat and did a bit more cross stitch whilst watching the quizzes and Georgian House Restoration.
Bed now. Sweet dreams to all xxx

- Went to DanceFit.
- Stopped off at Mr T to get a couple of types of flowers for the wedding at the weekend as we want to set up a bower outside the door on Thursday (bride is collecting the rest of the flowers on Friday). Fortunately they had exactly what we wanted.
- Shuffled things around in emerging hobby room (ex office). Threw some stuff out.
- emptied DW and put away
- Did drumming practice.
- Continued tidying greenhouse ready for when we have to bring tender plants in for winter. Mr N and I manhandled the bougainvillea from the patio to the conservatory.
- Went to zumba.
- emailed a friend who has a sick husband. Did a bit of mileage checking to see if we could visit them either at home (would need a separate journey and maybe a hotel stay) or in their static caravan which could conceivably be on our way home from Norfolk in a couple of weeks time.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.6 -

Moved all the pots and their bricks and plank to the other side of the sundeck and then managed to move the mini-greenhouse from the yard on to the sundeck by myself. It's a job that's needed doing for about 10 days but didn't get done, and then couldn't be done by Belovéd, so while he was out for a few hours I did it. Extremely chuffed with myself and happy with the outcome. The yard needs putting to bed for the winter which also involves moving things around quite a bit but I need to get on and do it while the weather's dry. Never known a September quite like this one, so we're having a day out on Thursday and I'll do my volunteering thing on Friday instead. When we had to empty the cupboard under the sink I found a box of bri11o type pads which I'd forgotten we had so the hob kettle had a thorough scrub yesterday which it needed.Apart from staying on top of things and dealing with some food that needs to be in the freezer I think that was all I managed yesterday. What I wanted to do was deal with the freezer itself but I ran out of steam. Must do that today. Freezer tetris it is.Better is good enough.5

Morning all,
Pollybear, I hope your OH is recovering ok.
Kaz - no way is it that long since you moved there!!
Valli, I am sure that you will soon get used to the new car. I also have an automatic hybrid. It wasn’t my first choice, but now I am quite happy with it. I keep my hand in on a manual gearbox by driving DD’s car occasionally!Yesterday I really did get my derrière into gear. Floors that could be were thoroughly swept and then mopped. Oh my days, the colour of the water. I changed it twice, and the house isn’t that big!The September Challenge has really helped me to deal with some annoying jobs on my list. Yes, some of them will reappear as they are jobs that I should be doing (more) regularly. Yes, I have added more jobs to the list as I have been going around. But overall, I do feel that I have achieved something, and it shows what I can do with some motivation. So thank you one and all for the motivation and making me accountable 😍.
This morning, the dw has nearly finished running, houseplants and the gh have been watered. I am still watering some of the pots outside as they really are very dry. Others are just being emptied as and when there is space in the green bin. It is a glorious day outside.5 -

Picking up my friend - she's taking her car in for a replacement part which was ordered 3 weeks ago with th epromise of delivery/fitting within 10 days. It's now past due its MoT and she's beyond frustrated.

Afternoon all. DS says his headache is nearly gone but first thing this morning he hadn't worked himself up to take the bandage off his eye. May be done by now!I've dried a washload outside, went to get the paper, went to have my haircut and booked up for the next two which takes me into January, then we had a walk round the block. Not any real housework except the normal preparing meals, washing up etc but everything's fairly tidy. Managed to sit outside this morning to read the paper but neighbour has the radio on this afternoon so I'm in here instead. Window cleaner is supposed to be here later which I'm glad about, the windows are grimy from what looks like dirty rain. That'll make it rain again!Hope everyone's OK x5

Hello all. Enjoy Simply Red Valli.
Today I have done dailies, wiped surfaces in bedroom, cleaned window in bedroom (from the list, just realised I only did one of them). Also am mid way through airing bed and changing bedding. Poppet has had the first of two walks. Sofa throws freshened.
DH has a doctors appointment so we combined the journey into town with shopping for new bedding, garden rake, birthday and Christmas bits and pieces. I may also have bought some hanging baskets and a rose bush which I've just put in the garden where I can see them from my chair I. The living room. Ooh, I also hoovered through.
About to walk Poppet again and run an errand on the way.Spend less now, work less later.6 -
