Look I don't want to put people off having new doors but you know me and DH we have such expensive taste which showed with the bathrooms -£18k's later. A plain white UPCV door fitted is about £750 according to my friend.

Setmefree is it a shame you can't rescue the glass but I would get it replaced rather than have a new door. Guessing it is an old house so would look more in keeping with the style.

Gingababe do start MB again Gamebookers and Partygame is an easy £7 per account per week on the Icehockey offer. PM me if you want any help.

I have hard wood , so UPVC might look a bit silly , & knowing me & my DH we will easily spend that !!!

Thanks for that I felt that I never really got to grips with it probably last time.... maybe not enough quiet time with a 4 year old DD. I will go through it all again. I am determined to do this. Thanks for the offer, you may get some silly questions though:o

    Thanks

Gingababe no questions are silly that is what I think and you are right you need to understand the principles of MB before you can really have a go at it. If not you might make costly mistakes.

I had hoped to bust out of GB but my bet won so still about £20 left in there now as my golf bet will loose on Sunday (he missed the cut). There is also a refund offer on Tottenham vs Pompey today and I am going for that as I am a Pompey fan and I am sure that Defoe will score just because he has left us.

Should be a quiet weekeend no plans. Will have a look at other people's doors and don't worry I have no intention of paying £1200 for a door. Hopefully the company in West Sussex will send me the info and I can take it to my friend who is going to fit the door. I can't really haggle over what he is going to charge me for labour but I will make sure I get the best price possible on the door. If it comes in under £800 fitted I might go for it if it is a nice door any more and we will have to wait.

Just checked the online banking and I am totally broke this month however there is only 13 days to pay day.......

Do get a few quotes, the more work for the company the lower the price per item.

Remember, doors aren't just to keep out the draughts; we had windows replaced and all doors (wooden) except the aluminium double glazed patio doors. A while later burglers tried to break in via one of the new UPVC doors (five shooting bolts and deadlocked) and failed, then they took an estimated 20mins to get in via the aluminium ones (which had the additional locks top & bottom on the door) by bending out the "fixed" panel and gaining entry.

If you have the type of door with a lever handle inside and out it improves the door security compared to just a hasp and mortice lock, but, you do need to remember to lock it.

Your decisions, but I would strongly recommend a good quality door with good security vs. a cheap one which can be "popped" open easily. We lost sentimental items in the theft, and to add insult to injury it took Norwich Union over 6motnhs to resolve the contents claim.

Stuart thanks for the advice, sorry to hear about your break in that must have been horrible. I totally agree I need a good solid door and won't settle for anything unsecure. I am happy to pay for quality but don't you think £1200 is a load of rubbish. We had all our windows and the back door replaced 4 years ago for under £4000. Anyway will see if a get a brochure from the other company and have a proper look.

Signed up with 3 new bookies for free bets of £80. Made a total error yesterday back the draw in a football game and layed the win to team 1. Ofcourse team 1 won so I lost £120. How stupid can you be. It just shows how people like me with 1 years experience can make mistakes. Anyway just have to get on with it hence the 3 new bookies. At least I bust out of Gamebookers in the end.

Just been up to town as I decided I wanted a new electric toobrush mine is old and doest hold the charge very well. I had £16 worth of Boots vouchers so wanted to spend those. Earned from product testing and Pigsback.

Got an Oral B one 1/2 price for £15. Some wereover £100 surely they can't be that much better so quite proud of myself for getting the cheap one. Forgot my Boots card but he said he would validate my receipt not sure how I would get the points now though.

    Morning

No weightloss this week but have not been eating that sensible but have reduced wine had just 8 glasses last week and they were not huge (200ml not 250ml). Will be away 3 nights this week so is going to be hard to be sensible but will try. Will go to the gym tonight just about to book a place at Bodybalance or Pilates.

Matchbetting went ok with the new bookies got 1 free bet just waiting for the other 2 and to place 1 more bet. I have taken up the Defoe offer and sadly for me he scored. I would have made £60 profit had he not scored but in the end he did so will break even. I felt I could not sit there and watch the game and cheer on Defoe so happy enough that Pompey got the draw.

Need to do some serious work today but have done all my sales reports which is a relief. I hate doing those. Hope you all have a nice week.

Off to Cornwall for 4 days now all with work so not back until Friday. Have got WIFI in the hotels I am at so should be able to visit this. Also need to do a bit of MB. I had the perfect match this morning 41/40 on a golfer. Went to check if there was a better on on the US golf and when I came back to place the bet the odds cut to 34. Rubbish. At least I got my free Stan James bet on the same player and the odds 41/40. That is a high odd and I need to bet a bit more on golf or my betfair balance is virtually gone. Still waiting for 1 free bet and the £100 refund from Betfair which is why my balance look a bit low. Should be about £430:j :j .

Mortgage is now down to £13k plus £3500 loan not bad bit broke this month so glad that this trip is all on expenses.

Had a few more bookings for meetings yesterday with work. One is in Maidstone so I hope DH will come with me and we can nip over to France and stock up. I know I am off the wine and that the € is strong however their wine in boxes is so cheap. Usually go to Sainsbury & Tesco as we know what we like from there.

Also got a nice booking in Plymouth on a Saturday from 9.30 to noon. That means DH can come with me on the Friday night have a night out and then I do the work Saturday morning before we can have a look around ourselves. It also means I get a day in lieu something I could really do with. Perfect.

I do like Cornwall it is just such a long drive....on small road.... and a bit boring.:(

PS: I put in an claim for a missing transaction on Quidco for £9.90 for this hotel booking and I have now got £20 of John Lewis vouchers coming my way from Pigsback. Should admit I ordered some GHD hairstraigthers from there yesterday for £96 :o but they are the only ones that work. Stuck them on the Egg card as I am broke until Payday.

    Hi Tallgirl,

With the Boots validated receipt, just pop into Boots next time you are in town and show them the validated receipt and give them your advantage card and they will add the points to your card and cross through the validation bit on the receipt - it's easy and a good way to make sure you get the points even if you didn't have your card with you at the time.

I don't post often but I do enjoy reading your thread. Keep up all the good work.

Thanks Zebedy just done it and got my points. Nice and easy really.

Anyway best laid plans went to pots on this trip. Laterooms messed up my booking so I could not stay at the lovely hotel last night no rooms left. They found me one up the road cheaper but not as nice. Could not use the WIFI as it is was BT and its the same here tonight at the nice hotel but they have a PC I can use. Very nice. They have said sorry and given me two vouchers for 2 glasses of wine. I shall have to claim them or it would not be MSE would it.

Top hotel and very nice we are having dinner her tonight and at least I dont have to eat alone as I have a workmate with me.

Going to Exeter tomorrow and they have a long tall sally so I feel a few size 16 trousers coming on the visa card. I can't keep using my 1 pair that fits me.

So that is it a quick update hope you are all well. Will try to see if the hotel tomorrow as wifi that will work. Really must get my Laptop sorted.
