  • Hi T.

Nice to see another MF diary - I love reading these, they help the diarist and the readers keep motivated!

As far the the kiddies decision, just as I was reading the forums my youngest wandered in, gave me a cuddle and said "I love you, Daddy" then tottered off to play. You can't put a monetary price on that.

p.s. She is now screaming at the top of her voice "help me mum!" because she "doesn't like to get dressed on her own". Hmnnnn.... tsk kids! :rotfl:

    Morning all
Really been looking forward to coming back to read this again. Had a really good Sunday, managed to get up to the club for the second half of the Drive In and meet our friends. The club was launching its new charity cause this year so of course there was the usual raffle with bottles of booze and choclates. I though he said they were 50p so was going to buy 2 and Dh said he would get 2. However they were £1 and DH then decided we should get a strip of 5.

The raffle was drawn and the winners could pick their preferred prizes. Apart from the booze there was also a nice golf top hanging at the back which no one was taking. I said to DH if we win I will pick that. Next call was our ticket (in fact the extra tickets we had bought). I went up and asked if I could have the top and the organiser realised it was still there. In the end I got it and people said good for you - not my fault that the other winners had not asked. It was donated from our proshop and sells for £35 so a good win really. It also fits me perfectly and it too big for DH.

Just sneaking in a second post before I need to do some work. My morning rutine (when working from home) is as follows
    1. Log on, open emails
    2. Read all MSE posts
    3. Log into online banking (since being a victem of credit card fraud)
    4. Do my daily clicks on Cashback sites.
    5. Do some work
I have exhausted all the casino and bingo offers and had some fantastic payouts so now is doing the daily clicks. Unfortunatly some have just been reduced so they don't pay as much but still think it is worth it. These are the ones I do:

Pigback: Used to be great with at least £1 a week if not more. Now a bit sparce but will still do it. You get 1p a day just for logging on. Tend to log in on a Monday to get all the weekly clicks and use the thread on MSE to enter the competitions.

Quidco: tend to do 3 a day pays about 23p. Used for for shopping and booking hotels for work. Get 5% back and I stay in a lot of hotels so pays quite nicely.

GreasyPalm: Don't use that site that much so can't always be asked to do it. DH just got £36 today so that is nice. Mainly from casino offers.

Topcashback: Had the £50 Virgin offer and a few others but don't really bother with daily clicks now.

MoneyBackMadness: I got £10 for signing up but it does not pay out until I have £35. I got £12.50 for King.com so try to do 3 or 4 daily ones to get 25p. It is going to take a long time at this rate but should be worth it especially if some of my fellow MFW get to their £35 as they were referred by me. I also have an account for DH as I referred him but he signed up for Egg and unless that tracks he is currently on £10.18 to it will be a long long time.

Does anyone else bother with the daily click? How do you find it? Do you do all the sites or just some.

I am doing quidco and Rpoints clicks but don't bother every day. I have used the ones that give you a decent amount back and there is only so much excitement in getting 3p a day or whatever Rpoints is now.

Quidco has been a great find though. I have used it for 2 car insurances and have banked £200 without spending a penny that I would not already have iykwim!

The actual cash from these sites is nice but I find doing the clicks keep me focussed on what I am trying to do, so they may help me spend less as well.

    Hi TG,

I only do pigsback for clicks, have got nearly £20, so am hoping to cash this in for two cinema vouchers and a £10 off a pizza hut meal for a night out!

I have been posting quite a few recipes on there recently - you get 200 points for each one published which is quite a nice boost to the piggybank.
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D

Thanks for the comments about daily clicks just done mine and now Shopping.com is down from 10p to 1p on Quidco I am not sure I am be bothered with it. Need to book some hotels though for work so the 5% will be worth it on laterooms if it tracks. Pigsback is paying 1point per day if you log in this week, not an awfull lot but at least I can enter the competitions.

Anyway a quick update, found a chap to do our fence yesterday for £450. He has already started actually turned up this morning at 8.30 am in the pooring rain so hats off to him. He has not asked for any money up front and has just off loaded all the materials. Sounds like I have got a good one.

Work owes me about £850 in expenses £350 which I should get this week but my credit card bill is over £500 so the rest will have to be used for that. I get all my expenses paid so not complaining just have to pay first and then claim it back.

However it is going to be difficult to pay any more on my mortgage this month than my usually monthly payment which is a shame. At least I will get a nice fence and possible a bit more work done on the driveway if he is any good.

Off to do some work, just come off the phone with my boss she is still a irritating as ever but hey ho thats life.

You are making having kids sound more like something I can actually see myself doing. Think this diary is helping me getting a few things sorted out in my head.

Fence is nearly done looking great will get quote for other work tomorrow so will have to wait and see. Will be on the road though most of the day tomorrow have 4 clients to see so will be nice to get back out again in a way.

  • And don't forget, as someone on the MFi3 board said, you can use your Child Benefit to overpay the mortgage..........not that I've managed that one yet! :rotfl:
