OK so doesn't she want to transfer liability to you? I do recall a current court claim this year about WingYip (I remember it because it's that Croydon, innit - see my Avatar...).

  • Bit of advice needed now. Had a reminder PCN a month later and now have a letter from a debt recovery firm; TRACE Debt Recovery UK.

Do I need to do anything at this stage or carry on ignoring?  Wife is annoyed I didn't pay the £30 at the time but I assured her the good folk on here have said not to line their pockets
    Thanks

Carry on ignoring. Threatograms from powerless debt collectors are part of the process.

Note how they phrase things as if they can obtain a CCJ by clicking their fingers.
  • If she hasn't done so already, your wife can transfer liability to you at any point up to the issue of a County Court Claim, so that would remove her from the equation.

However, from the limited part of the PCN posted, this is likely not POFA compliant so there is no keeper liability anyway - the only down side is your wife would have to defend a claim against her.  There's nothing to stop you doing all the paperwork on her behalf if that helps at all.

If she is wobbling get her to transfer liability.

Update - received a letter from Moorside Legal dated 21st but only got this weekend.

A law firm instructed to collect the outstanding balance of £170.

    Is this another ignore letter?

    Thanks

Depends if she has done what I said or wants to. Now is the time to transfer liability to the driver, if she is not up for a court hearing late this year.
