PCN - Wing Yip, Manchester

RavingMad

A couple of weeks ago, I stopped outside the supermarket to pick up my elderly parents (one of whom has a blue badge) I was two mins at most as my family loaded the car.
A PCN came through the door at the weekend. One picture is of the car boot open.
Is it worth appealing on the grounds of blue badge holder?
I'm fairly certain I've done the same thing in the past without getting a ticket
Thanks

I would have thought that where you parked had loading bay restrictions, so blue badge wouldn't be relevant.
I use that car park fairly regularly and they have 2 lifts to the upper floor car parks that allow 4 hours of free parking, as well as disabled parking bays.0 -
Covert surveillance site.
Never seen a Wing Yip one go to a court claim, let alone a hearing. Too much explaining to do.
I'd just ignore.4 -
Which parking firm? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Blue badge is not relevant on private land, but what exactly are they charging you for? There seems to be no restrictions on stopping where you did, no signage in that area, and you weren't in the yellow box.The signage at the entrance is as usual with a PPC (UKPS) hopeless does not conform and is faded.Wing Yip are notorious for brushing off any complaint about parking back to the PPC, there are many complaints about the other branch in London where UKPS are scamming at every chance they get.Though it was a daft place to stop IMHO.2

Yeah, I was saving my parents the short journey as we'd parked and ate at the restaurant. I waited in a bay as the family went shopping and pulled up as they came out.
Sister paid for overstaying once but that was before I came across this board0 -
Blue badge is not relevant on private land, but what exactly are they charging you for?Just a point - they are relevant in that everybody ie. society knows they provide certain extra rights. The onus is on the parking company to make it clear if they do NOT provide any of the same rights on their land.Same with yellow lines. On the public highway you can unload etc., so a contractual term that says otherwise must be ultra clear.Nothing to stop them installing traffic lights where green mean stop, according to a nearby contractual sign. But good luck making those charges stick. And they rarely make any of this clear, as it would mean less tickets for them.3

You were loading though. And double yellow lines are not accompanied by extra signage, unlike single lines, so there was no requirement for you to search any out. All that accompanies them are pavement blips.
Was there any notification in the form of "our yellow lines do not mean what double yellow lines usually mean and you must not park here in any circumstances even for a second"?They should have used double red lines if they intended to convey clearway style restrictions, which are accompanied by signage.
Double yellows on private land are literally the worst method of conveying "no parking".
But like I said, never seen anything come of Wing Yip tickets.4
