Nationwide Regular Saver

My Nationwide regular saver matured yesterday and today it is showing as an instant access saver. However, when I tried to open a new one today I am told I cannot open a new one as I already have a regular saver.
How long do I need to wait? One year ago I had no problem opening a new regular saver the day after maturity.

One bit of good news, on the website front page there's a message about reductions in interest rates on October 1st on umpteen accounts, but not for the RS issue 7.2 -
You need to wait until the day after it matures. Nationwide special.0

Nationwide needs to get its act together. Too soon / too late.
I had an email informing me on Monday that my RS had matured into an instant access account and that I could access my money, but online it was still showing as an RS.
Today when it is clearly in the Instant Access I moved the money out, but they say I still have an RS so I can’t open a new one. Not good enough.1 -

I have been on the RS thread but there are so many posts on fringe building societies and new banks that it is hard to find a specific account such as Nationwide.

I'm in the same boat. Due to mature 22nd, stayed as an RS until today, changed to instant access and still wont let me open a new one.1

The answer's simple: don't open another RS with such an incompetent company0 -
To my recollection, Nationwide Regular Savers have always slipped back a day at renewal (when available) which is why I don't leave it to the very end of the month before setting one up. Once converted to an Instant Access at maturity, it always takes overnight before a new Regular Saver can be opened. Our Regular Savers matured on Sunday and were showing as Instant Access. I tried to open new Regular Savers but, as anticipated, I could not do this until Monday and funded them from the Flexaccount as COP would only be available today. The morphed Instant Access accounts could not be closed on Sunday but could on Monday.Some/many/all of those whose RS matured yesterday appear to have suffered from a problem at Nationwide whereby the RS did not get morphed into the Instant Access yesterday and consequently will have to wait an extra day to be able to open a new RS.2

So if you leave N/wide, it might be a case of out of the frying pan into the fire !6 -
Nationwide will allow a new account to be opened the day after maturity. I had this last year as well. My account matured on the 26th and I wasn't able to open a new one until the 27th.
Seems the issue this year seems to stem from when the their systems are triggering the change from regular saver to instant access and this seems to mean that you should be able to open the new regular 2 days after maturity. They hopefully will get this fixed soon.
In the grand scheme of things I wouldn't say 1 extra day waiting is a major issue, just inconvenient. I'll see if the problem is fixed when mine matures at the weekend though I am tempted to close a day early to avoid an issues.
