Blue badge holders car clamped on drive

It's odd that an enforcement agency clamped your car on your drive.I think it's also odd that the enforcement agency has escalated the matter to a bailiff without giving you the opportunity to pay or appeal.1

What is the status of the debt, is there a warrant of control, has this gone to High Court for enforcement?wobblewobbly said:

Do you actually own the car? If it is on finance then they cannot clamp it as it is not yours in the first place.wobblewobbly said:Enforcement agency stated that because the blue badge was not showing that gave them the authority to clamp. After I told them the car has a blue badge in it they said it is too late now, as it is in the possession of the bailiff. Car is still on my drive but apparently I no longer own it.
Who is the enforcement agency? Are they actually a bailiff, as in court appointed, or are they a debt collector in a high vis jacket?wobblewobbly said:Don't seem to be making any headway with enforcement agency or bailiff. Should I badger local authority as @la531983 suggested to get it removed?
I own the car.
The enforcement agency is called Jacobs. It is a bailiff who has clamped the car but not court appointed.
What kind of bailiff, are they actually a court appointed bailiff, or are you using that in general terms? EG, County Court Bailiff, High Court Enforcement Officer, Debt Collector, something else? What specific authority are they acting under? That should be detailed on the documentation that they have left you.

Did the registered keeper get contacted about the parking event?1

Unpaid local authority ticket, which is now £470.Emmia said:
Technically the car doesn't have a blue badge, it is your son who has the badge, that you use when he is in the car to obtain the benefits that the badge entitles him to.wobblewobbly said:Enforcement agency stated that because the blue badge was not showing that gave them the authority to clamp. What type of debt is the Bailiff/clamper trying to enforce against?0 -
They are supposed to give you 7 days notice that they are going to clamp and I've had absolutely no correspondence whatsoever. Just a letter today stating that my vehicle has been clampedMark_d said:It's odd that an enforcement agency clamped your car on your drive.I think it's also odd that the enforcement agency has escalated the matter to a bailiff without giving you the opportunity to pay or appeal.0 -
Yes, years ago. It was in dispute as it was the infringement was in my ex partners name. Heard nothing since and then this.RogerPensionGuy said:Did the registered keeper get contacted about the parking event?0 -
But the article is fundamentally incorrect, a vehicle doesnt have a blue badge unless one is display on it. A person has a blue badge and it can be used with any vehicle that they are travelling in, can't be used in a vehicle if someone else is using it without them/not to collect/drop them offla531983 said:Stopping bailiffs taking your vehicle - Citizens Advice
Nothing on there suggests the blue badge has to be on display at the time. Ring their office and ask for an email address and point this out.0 -
A quick Google search appears to say the registered keeper is essentially responsible for these parking tickets.wobblewobbly said:

If the registered keeper was informed of the ticket, it looks awkward for an easy cheap quick fix.
Sounds like this needs sorting out very effectively ASAP to avoid further hassle and costs as these initially smallish parking fines can become very big when going thro the systems.
Good luck to the Op.

No warrant of control, no high court enforcement order.MattMattMattUK said:

Jacobs are enforcement agents and debt collectors, nothing more is stated on any letters or their website.
They are acting under Liverpool city council.
