Hi, I've just got back from Trafford Centre and I'd say its not worth going. They have the usual Ted Baker gift set with the speakers and a few Royal Jelly Sets. That seemed to be it really. Sorry.
    Hi Jillybobs,

I'm thinking about making my way down there tomorrow. The are a few things that I was interested in but I know they're probably the most popular so there's little chance they've got them but did you by any chance spot any No7, FCUK, Soap & Glory or Ruby & Millie stuff??? I know it's a long shot.

    Thanks

    My online order:mad:

Very disappointed today. I ordered 7 toys and expected to get them by yesterday. Unfortunately, 4 big parcels were arrived today, which is only one day in a week that my OH stays home while I have to be out.  I don't want him to know or manage with my order at all. He has already complained about my shopaholics at Boots. Those toys are so bulky. He had to move all and put them in the garage.

Worst of the worst, he requested me to 'get rid of' them, and really felt angry with my order. He didn't even listen to me how bargain I got. He told me that if he wants to give anything for children, he'll spend at that time -- even not mind to pay for full price. He told me that not to let children known about this. He even complained me that I've spolied them too much with obsessive toys. And finally told me off for buying any toy for them. How mean he is!!! I can't say a word as the store room inside the house has already filled up with my shopping (not only from Boots though).

    Now my choices are:
    1) Returning them back to Boots (don't want to do this at all - as they are large toy boxes)
    2) Selling them on ebay
    3) Giving them away to others (without letting my kids known -- so ashamed not to see them happy with new toys)
    4) Putting them in the bin (that what the thing my OH's nearly done)

I don't want to waste my money. But if I return them back to Boots, I will get my money back but lose my good opportunity (Of getting things cheaply). Actually, I have other 5 bags of Boots shopping hidden at my office. Some were bought when 50% off, some in 75% off. Planned to take them back home tomorrow, but can't do it now. I thought I were saving a fortune for my quick on sale. But now I have to let all gone. So sadddddddddd.

    Was imagine them enjoy with:
Doctor Who battle (remote control Daleks)
    Doctor Who Tardis playset
    Operation
    Noddy computer
    Power rangers walkie talkie
    Power rangers shooting disc
    3D snake ladder
    Thomas the Tank wheeled bag
    Spiderman watch
Doctor who sonic screw driver torch

I wasn't gonna give them all in once, but one item in each month. But now it is useless to talk or change his mind. Just only if the delivery had been arrived yesterday or the day before, I would had no problem at all (as I can easily hide them by myself). I did more than 30 orders from Boots online during the last 12 months (since I joined this thread). No single order comes late at all. Most of them were arrive 2 days in advance. Unlucky me!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for long posting. Difficult to say how I really feel....... Friends would not understand me as they consider I shop too often and spend too much.

Me and the missus bought so much from the 90% sale last year (toiletries etc) that we're still using them now and still have loads left. We quite literally still have boxes of them sitting in cupboards. We'll probably restock if there is anything left for this year. :D

It's only natural that you overbuy when items are ridiculously cheap. We have a rule that we only do this if it's items that we need.

Really simple solution to your problem and I don't know if it's already been mentioned already by someone, but can't you give one of each to friend/neighbour/relative to store for you or is that not an option?

I know it's not my place to say anything about your OH, but he's completely unreasonable.

Whatever you do, do not give them away or throw them in the bin, as you payed for them with your own money.

Either return them to your local store regardless if they know you (as it's their job and your right to return them if you wish) or flog them on Ebay for substancial profit.

ptyks - I had to return an order of some toys, which came in two big bulky heavy boxes. I rang the customer care number and they very willingly arranged for the boxes to be collected. The lady I spoke to couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful, and I could choose which day and time of day they came to take them back.

If you DO decide to return them to Boots, you don't have to drag them back to the store at least!

Do Boots hold back any stock for the 90% sale or is it literally only the stuff that they have left on the shelves from the 75% sale?
  • You are a great sales woman Im going to buy one of these now!! Can you tell me if you are meant to comb the hair routinely with it or only use it when you have the DREADED ....... ?

I combe routinely because If you catch them early they are easier to get rid of...

    Well the packaging says
    1) Coat the hair with conditioner (brush throught hair first to remove tangles)
    2) Part the hair into sections
    3) Comb through each section (clearing each one before moving on th the next)

I now try to remember to run a nit combe through their hair once a week after a bath. The lice generally like it behind the ears and near the neck so I really concentrate here and lightly check every where else. Otherwise you could have a small army growing before you know about it. (dd1 did not have an itchy head with hers - just a slight rash on the back of her neck. Only discovered them by accident really)

Argh! I haven't been able to get anything in the online sale so far and now I can't even get onto the Boots site! Is anyone else having problems?

    I've been getting the error:

    Internal Server Error - Read

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

for the last hour or more :(:( *cries*

  • Yes it was definitely the 750ml bottle and its always the same problem. Never mind, will keep trying!

I bought the 1ltr 95p bottle of water yesterday for the first time (I'm 'supposidly' a memeber of the health club and it should be 1/2 price) as an earlier post said by using the 50p voucher and being a helth club member you get it for free.

Well I got 50p off a 1ltr bottle! The voucher says only valid for a 750ml but the SA put it through and did not mention it not accepting it. So not sure if the voucher did work on a 1ltr rather than a 750ml bottle or I only got the HC discount!!!!!!

Sorry not much help here am I .......
