Estimate bills for single person one bed house
Just bought a one bed cluster house, my budget wil be tough for a few years I think.
I need to know approx figures for
Council tax band b with single person discount
Gas
Electric
Water
Can anyone help estimate the monthly bills?
I think I will be a light user eg no tumble dryer, no bath, cook with microwave.

No one can tell you this without knowing which council you are under.
You can look this up for yourself on your local council website - it will give you the cost for each band, and you just need to deduct 25% for the single person discount. As soon as you let them know you've completed the purchase you're likely to get a bill for the current year anyhow - you'll probably need to fill a form in to apply for the single person discount.3 -

Does property have a water meter?
Which area are you under? Will also effect Gas & Electric.
Gas & Electric have many variables, such as insulation etc & just what devices you will be using, for how long, how well you tolerate cold...Life in the slow lane1 -

Short answer is no.
If you want to know what i spend annually on utilities / bills then see below (PS - i'm also a very light user of gas, electricity, water etc.......)Gas = £700Electric = £900Water = £250
Council tax = As mentioned already, you can look this up for yourself on your local council website
TV Licence = £175
Mobile = £60
Broadband = £240
Food = £1,500
Building & Contents = £250
Public Transport (buses) = £100
IMHO you should create a simple spreadsheet and list all expenditure on there as some usage can be seasonal i.e. i use very little gas in summer but now where coming into winter it will increase from £15 a month to more like £65 (this spreadsheet will be useful in year two to study trends)
I don't have the following expenses anymore:
Cars
Pets
Takeaways
Mortgage
Holidays
Children
I don't drink alcohol anymore (none whatsoever and thus don't go to the pub anymore)
I typed into ChatGPT something like "list all my potential expenses" and it pulled the following information whuch you might find useful

All depends on your personal circumstances eg, do you put the heating on when the temperature drops or do you snuggle under a blanket? Do you boil the kettle for cups of tea frequently? How long do you spend in the shower/bath? Do you use an oven or an air fryer?
