  • We took our golden retriever puppy who was 5 months old on our sun holiday. We did the booking with the sun and then after we got confirmation we phoned the park we were going to and payed £20 to take her. You have to book direct with the park after confirmation though. Might be worth phoning the park you wish to go to and double check they allow dogs as a couple of parks dont (majority do though) Hope that helps

Just checked the haven website, it says.......

Most dogs are welcome in selected accommodation at all Parks except Burnham-on-Sea, Riviere Sands, Lydstep Beach or Half Board accommodation, at a supplement £40 per dog per week and £20 per dog per short break (up to a maximum of two dogs per booking) We reserve the right to decline the following breeds: Pitball Terrier, Dogo Argentino, Fil Brasiliero & Japenese Tosa. Please note: The management reserve the right to exclude any of the afore mentioned breeds if brought to our Parks, along with any dog which is out of control and/or showing signs of aggression.

I have previously booked sun holidays to Heacham Beach holiday park with Park Resorts and after I received the confirmation, I rang the park direct and added my dogs to the booking. You only get basic accommodation if you take dogs but I have not had any problems so far! The only thing to be careful of is the time of year and beach restrictions, as some beaches (such as Hunstanton) have dog bans in force during certain months of the year. Hope your dog enjoys the seaside!
  • I have been on the "Sun" holidays quite a few times now, staying at Haggerston Castle in Northumberland twice, Searles in Hunstanton and Porthmadog. I can recommend all of them. We usually upgrade to the next level and find that it is worth the extra £20-£30, for a newer caravan and extra space! We normally travel as 2 couples though and don't have to worry about children's activities, so we look for areas with plenty to see!

Yep, we took our border terrier with us on our Sun hol last year with no probs. As others have suggested, I checked the websites for each of our chosen parks, then once we had the confirmation of which we were going to I phoned them direct and added the dog to the booking (for £20 I think). As has been said already, you know you'll be put in the most basic of their accomodation, but it was fine for us.

  • You need your booking form reference number when you book online so you had better keep looking for the form!

This is the first time I've saved the vouchers for the sun holiday ~ although I forgot to buy Saturdays paper (realised when I came on line Saturday night!).

May appear to be a silly question's but why do you need a booking form reference number before you have booked?????? Or is this a unique number given to people that have booked before?

Also, do you have to book on-line then post your vouchers in (did I miss a collection card on Saturday with the details of what to do???) As I'm sure that when I went to the Sun's website the T&C stated that you could only pay by cheque. But surely if you were to book on-line you would have to use your cc?

    Thanks

Yes the priority booking forms / numbers are for people who have previously been on a SUN holiday

If you havent been on a sun holiday before, then you will not be able to book online and will have to collect and send in the tokens.

In tomorrows sun there is a pull out supplement, and will have all details in it and also a booking form etc :)

  • Thanks Rachie B :)

Guess I'll have to make a long list of alternative dates/parks after missing the 2 issued with saturday paper.

I'll be right at the back of the queue...after the online bookers and the people that bought saturdays paper (kicking myself now!).
