if you are uncomfortable - don't do it.
I strongly recommend you do not include your mug in any rest like this.1 -

stance.
If the wrong item was sent and/or it was faulty, then I guess the seller pays for the return
I'm guessing the buyer wants to see the garment on the person; no need to include your face.
Buying clothing online is a hit-and-miss. I'm sure you will agree that with women generally, less so men, a size
10 in one store is a perfect fit, in another it is too small and then in another it's too big
I've bought shoes online, Clarks as they do varying widths but I would never by shoes online from any other brand. My OH bought a dress, it was too big - its the first and last time she will buy clothing online. The return costs are different for non Uk sites, if this was a UK site and dress being different to that advertised, or the measurements being out would require the seller to pay return costs. If the dress was as advertised and buyer changed their mind, then buyer pays. However this is not a UK site .I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I posted twice.
I'm in agreement with the seller.
The "don't do it," comments were as in do not do it if the poster feels uncomfortable.
I have said, don't inc your face in one of the two posts
I've also said the seller is requesting evidence and may charge return postage if the OP do not prove it
was not as described etc.
I agree with your post, ie the seller has a right to ask these questions.
When I buy stuff from ebay or even Amazon, most of the sellers are just ordinary people trying to make a living and I'm acutely aware of returning items and the very little margins they have. For the record, I'm not a trader etc but 99.999% buyer.1 -
Why would you even consider it - do this and the next will want you stripped down to your skivvies2

For the record, I'm not a trader etc but 99.999% buyer.Sellers can ask the reason for a return request for a SNAD item but not conforming to style of original advert, or sizing is a sufficient reason. The sellers profit margin is absolutely no concern of the buyer, I do operate as a small business and would expect to pay for a return and refund buyer if I sent the wrong item, or misdescribed an item. If I was so bad a seller that this started to impact badly on my profit, then I would take that as a clue that I was misleading my buyers and perhaps should take up a different occupation. We can all make mistakes, I’m certainly not perfect but making unreasonable and frankly creepy requests of a buyer doesn’t sit easily on me, I’d prefer to accept that I’m not infallible and work with the buyer to resolve it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I’ve requested to send it back with the biggest issue being its doesn’t look like the picture on the website, the style is slightly different and the lace is completely different! That is my main reason for the return but I added as a side note that the size was way off. They have asked for pics of garment and packaging (fair) but they also want me to wear right clothes and take pictures of my body showing the measurements! Surely they can’t do that?!
They state their 16 is a 31" waist whereas M&S on a random dress is 34", similarly bust is 38" -v- 40.5" but then M&S is known for their generous sizing, looking at a well known Italian brand, they only go to XXL and count UK 16 as XXXL. At another Italian brand they put waist at 30.7" so even smaller than the brand you bought from.
Have you measured the dress against their size guide?
All of it is a bit moot anyway given they are a far east company and so any enforcement of rights is next to impossible2 -

If they send the item back (even "tracked") they are very unlikely to end up with any proof that will satisfy PayPal that the item has been returned, in which case PP won't refund the OP's money.
So, in all probability she will end up with no dress, no refund and be further out of pocket by the postage cost!
Sorry, but that is the reality.2 -

Indeed as it is something to be very alert about when buying online.
As I touched on in my previous post, and you have given good examples off, even in UK shops/stores with brands of clothing which may be own-brand
labels - sizes vary from store to store.
Often, the uniformity in sizes is well-known branded clothing.
Re "far eastern company," you've hit the nail on the head but there are decent ones out there.

Since they want the measurements to get you the right size tell them you no longer wish to purchase a dress so measurements are not necessary.1
