It’s made me feel worse, when I was just trying to make sure people were aware, so that it didn’t happen to them. I hate the way these members reacted. Yeah, this forum has always had a bit of a nasty/rude undertone. It's only a few folks but they are quite vocal. I've got a bunch of them on ignore - it makes the forum a nicer place!Jordec said:The post will be deleted today, so I won’t be able to update you all. If you check back, you will see that I actually said “everyone I have spoken to”, meaning around 40 people, not everyone who has a PayPal account. Everything I said was fact, not subjective, not exaggerated. I have now found two people on other forums that say they are not affected either, but every one of my family, friends, neighbours etc had unauthorised automatic payments set up, without their knowledge. PayPal has still not provided any evidence that I approved any of mine, although 2 were subscriptions, so I knew what I was requesting. The rest were one off purchases, no or little intention of using them again and I certainly did not agree to giving them authority to take any amount of money when they wanted to, without checking with me. It was just luck that the merchants on my account were reputable, but I wouldn’t trust anyone to have that level of authority over my bank account.QrizB said:Jordec said:The post will be deleted today, so I won’t be able to update you all.
