Shawbrook are gradually migrating customers to their new platform which I believe is cloud based.Albermarle said:

It seems ISA transfer requests from Virgin often come a 'cropper' because the customer (you & me) think they are banking with Virgin but in reality it is with someone else (Clysdale, Yorkshire, Northern Rock, ???). Rather oddly, when you open up a bank account the bank rightly goes through a load of hoops to ensure you are who you say you are (passport; driving licence; tax bill, etc.) but Virgin lacks transparency by failing to make it clear who they are and who you are banking with. This is casuing angst and grief and it would be a great idea if there was a form of class complaint/action against Virgin for that angst and grief and potential loss of interest and other financial opportunities through the inevitable delays caused.0

I know the 05 code is the Yorkshire Bank one. Once in the past I had an ISA transfer from Virgin rejected by Shawbrook when I chose Virgin in the drop down menu for the ISA transfer. I was told by Shawbrook to choose Yorkshire Bank instead for it to be processed correctly.2010 said:
Was your code 05 or 08?Marmaduke123 said:My ISA transfer from Virgin to Shawbrook went ahead without a hitch. I'm pretty sure that I had to give the sort code for the ISA account on the transfer form, and that it was then referred to as Virgin (Clydesdale).0 -
I would have thought that Shawbrook would/should know by the sort code where to send the transfer request.fuzzzzy said:

Obviously they do know if they told you to choose YB.
Having said that, Virgin should put their own house in order regarding transfers.
Virgin are now owned by Nationwide and will eventually be merged and the brand name gone.
Which is probably what Clydesdale should have done.0 -
Irritating though it undoubtedly is, it's something of a stretch to describe that as a great idea, but what have you done about it so far?nedwilsher said:...Virgin lacks transparency by failing to make it clear who they are and who you are banking with.
