Has anyone had experience of this insurance company? I have made a claim on my insurance with them for damage to my car. Totally my fault but they have agreed it can be repaired by their 'accident management company' have just told me they will only pay £1750 to have it repaired. My local (and very good) garage has assessed the damage and have quoted £3500 for repairs, meaning I need to cover £1750. My policy is fully comprehensive and I see nothing in the insurance policy about a limit on repair payments. Is this legal?

From memory they have an unusual arrangement with their approved network of garages that they pay a fixed fee rather than what the job actually costs so naturally massively overpay if its just a minor scratch and significantly under pay if you have a Rolls with major front end damage.greencar1975 said:Has anyone had experience of this insurance company? It docent impact you unless you want to go to your own garage rather than theirs.
Who knows what, if any, other aspects there are to the deal between them and their garages.0

Ok thank you. So they will only cover the full amount if I use one of their garages, the nearest one being 75 miles away from me. I'll go with a reputable name next time!0

Check with them but it's what my memory was of when I looked at it when another person here complained about it.greencar1975 said:Ok thank you. Avoid this company, I feel that I have been scammed by them.
After going on ComparetheMarket to get quotes for renewing my car insurance, Oneprotect were the cheapest quote. However, after paying the premium, they then emailed to say that ‘it has been brought to our attention that the risk details are incorrect’ and they took £153 from my account to amend the policy without my permission. They had the same information as all the other insurers when I completed the application form plus written proof from my last insurers re my No Claims.I am currently trying to sort this out with them but I wish I had stayed with Churchill who are a reputable company
I think they undercut other insurers then claw back the money using spurious excuses, do not fall for this scam.1

I have just taken out a policy with One Protect, having confirmed by chat that the policy would cover my home craft business. Once I received my policy, the statement of fact showed that it only covered clerical business use and not manufacturing.
The only way to change the policy is by chat, which is an extremely slow way of communicating. I asked whether the policy could be cancelled and was told there would be a charge of £49.99 for this. I am VERY DISAPPOINTED and will not be using the company in the future. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!0

People should beware. The cheapest quote is cheap for a reason. If the cheapest does appeal to you, make sure you read ALL T’s & C’s.Mortgage free
