Phone models change fairly frequently. A maker such as Doro will commission a production run and when stock runs out, they commission a run of an updated next model. If you want a specific phone that's recently out of production there's ebay, or if you're happier with a high street presence Cex might be worth a try.1

It all depends on the persons "issues". Mine are poor hearing & arthritic fingers. I find a touch screen a very bad idea for me. I bought a Doro 6820 in March which has a louder ring than my previous one & decent sized & labelled buttons & so far I haven't read the instructions. Yes I know that is bad but means it it easy to use.I must look into the button on the back as it may keep my son quiet, that is what happens when you don't read the instructions.2

My 90 year old friend prefers a touch screen as she has dexterity issues which means she can't manage more than a touch, but has no problem with her eyesight and is as sharp as a pin
On the other hand my mate in his 50s, struggles with any phone and needs a simple phone he can just dial a number on. It's not his age, he's always been like this. Also check to see if they want one first.Whilst I've got a long way to go before I'm "elderly", if anyone were to give me a mobile phone, it would go off for recycling straight away. Don't need/want one, and the monthly charges are an extra expense that I can do without.
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.1 -
I don't have mine on a contract & normally spend less than £5 a year on it. I have used it to call the AA or tell someone if I expect to be late as I have people who worry about me. It is also useful to get those codes that you sometimes need as they are dreadful via a landline.1

My wife gets on alright with her TTfone Titan TT950. She finds touch screens of any sort very difficult. I have managed to pair the WhatsApp from the phone to the PC which means she can send messages by that method instead of using the phone keys. It is not a smartphone and can't install any normal apps, but the WhatsApp version is kept up to date. Every so often it tells her it needs updating so I deal with that.
She has an Android tablet with a screen on which she can use a stylus. I did manage to install a cut-down version of Google Messaging on the phone but unfortunately it omitted the feature for pairing to the tablet.1 -
I was served an ad for Chatsie on Facebook, and saved it in case my Mum is interested in future.

I set her up with an identical Samsung to mine, works ok but whatever phone she has weird things happen 😆0
