Morning all. Get well vibes to all the poorlies.
Wordle in four. Very basic flying done here over last couple of days as I've been busy making a birthday cake for DGD3's party today. So far today just the bedding is in the machine. Next is watering the garden. Plans not going quite as we wanted. DH has had to pop to work as the swimming pool is giving off weird readings. Hope it doesn't take too long to sort.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.6 -
Morning xx
I'm up, made my bed, completed Strands with no hints, completed Wordle in three, only managed two lines on Connections - never heard of one of the purple things 🤷♀️, and supping my first brew.
I've woken up with the head on that sees something that needs doing wherever it looks. I prefer the head that blithely ignores it all. But heyho.
Saturdailies to do this morning. Visit Pops, if he's in, this afternoon. I do hope it's cooler today 😎
Get well soon to all the poorlies.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Morning all,
Wordle in 5 this morning.
My list for today
Take DD to her horse riding lesson
Finish decorating DS's bedroom
Remind the kids about their chores
Iron school stuff for DD and get DD to put it away
Do some uni prep for next week
Take DD over to the stables so she can ride her horse and do the required tasks
I think that is everything that I need to tackle today. I hope everyone has a lovely Saturday/weekend. Hugs to those who want/need them.

Another warm day here but there's a fresh breeze so that's better.Hope anyone who is ill feels better soon.Cleaned the bathroom early this morning. Did a washload which dried in a couple of hours. Went for a reasonably long walk and met lots of dogs. My favourite thing. The dogs, not the walkThat's about it x5

Back now from party. Before we went I did dailies, walked Poppet and dusted and hoovered through the house. It was so nice to come back to. Now relaxing in the garden.Spend less now, work less later.6

My bp has mysteriouly returned to normal so goodness knows what was going on there. I didn't realise how 'off' I was feeling but now it's returned to normal my energy has returned, I've lost that slightly 'woozy' feeling and the very slight headache I couldn't shake off has gone. I don't know if the two things are linked but it seems likely. Anyway, I hope it doen't go back up.After two weeks of feeling 'off' - last week with a serious case of man flu and this week with my bp-related issues I finally felt that I had the energy to do some flying. Everything has been left for two weeks so some serious flying was in order. I cleaned the kitchen and bathroom, bleached the sink and washing-up pad, emptied and cleaned the tall kitchen bin and took a bag of rubbish and a bag of recycling down. I also did a quick vac. Tomorrow I need to sort out the sitting room, which looks as if we have several students living here. The ROD is a disaster too but that will have to wait until next week.6

@short_bird - On one of my trips with the Ulster Historical Foundation, we stayed at the Glasgow Central Station Hotel. Great location, within walking distance of places we wanted to go. And if you needed a snack in the middle of the night - stores were open.6

Hope all those who are ill, or caring for ill partners, have a better time this weekend.
I decided to brave the lake today, planning to just wallow in the sun watching dragonflies. Woke up and no sun. Undaunted, I went anyway and although no dragonflies, I was treated to a very close encounter with a young kingfisher who was flitting about in one of the trees near the shallow end of the lake. I swam/floated up to it several times and watched it dive for a fish (unsuccessfully). Made my day. Have discovered that I can breaststroke quite easily using just one arm, but if I proper breaststroke my bad arm gets pins & needles after 6 strokes. However it was better than a few weeks ago when I was on hols, so seems to be improving a little although I've started getting a lot of mouth ulcers which may be related to the 1buprofen ......so may stop that for a few days and see how it goes. Sigh.
Went to L1d1 on my way home and got a real bargain with the £1.50 fruit/veg box: 1 swede, 6 shallots, 3 mangos, 2 nectarines, 4 apples, a couple of handfuls of strawberries, 1 large tomato and a red pepper. most impressed.
Had a fly round my area of the bedroom, decluttered, vacuumed and polished the dressing table and chest of drawers.
Washed a dress by hand.
Put a skirt I've been deliberating whether to keep or not onto FB as I realised the elastic was perished in the waistband and there is no way my needlework skills are up to repair. Someone from a local drama club is coming to look at it on Monday and hopefully she will want it as I'll have to bin it otherwise.
emailed Mum's care home and stepsister to ensure her visit doesn't clash with any of Mum's activities; the home has a beach hut with several trips going to it this week.
Had a long phone chat with DB as he and SIL are visiting next weekend.

disaster…my jelly bag has burst!
i’ve been given golden plums, they’ve made jam. 74 plums counted in and 74 stones counted out. then i simmered damsons with the intention of making jelly and my jelly bag has burst a seam at thebottom. tied a knot in and also set up a muslin in a colander but goodness knows how i’m going to process the crab apples.
