Spusu any good? Need EE network.

I have been with Sky mobile for years on SIM only, using the piggyback data when travelling in the UK.   The signal at home is not good, usually use Virgin WiFi to call via WhatsApp.

I have requested PAC from Sky, and looking at Spusu for 30gb data with roaming included, at £7.50 per month.

Has anyone had any issues with them or would recommend them?

If you have a need for wifi calling then check their website for phone compatibility. As an example it doesn't work on Pixel phones.

I have a Samsung Galaxy s24 so all good with compatibility.   Would not have thought of that though, so thanks for the heads up 👍

I'm with spusu (for the second time) on a secondary phone. I've not had any problems, but have never had to contact them beyond sign-up and PAC out.

I am in the process of switching to spusu uk at the moment and it's all been pretty easy. Keeping my old no using PAC, spusu Whatsapp  support usually reply within a few hours and their 2.90 a month deal with EU roaming was a deal sealer.

In Austria spusu allow unused data (as part of an allowance) to be accumulated and carried forward to the next month (up to a limit) but not aware of this in the UK yet.

One thing to note if you are going to use an iPhone. To customise your voicemail message you have to upload it as a .wav file. This will involve downloading a third party app to record , as iPhones don't do .wav

I have just moved to spusu and found, just like VoLTE, they are also picky about which phones they let use 5G. My phone which has been fine on three other networks only gets LTE on spusu.

Also their voicemail is comically bad. They send a text message with a unique phone number for that message which you have to try and copy and paste from the SMS to the phone dialler. Seems to be the same number with 001/002/003/etc on the end. If you phone the base number you get the latest message, so there is at least one number you can use as the voicemail number.

    I'm already planning my escape.

What is the base phone number?
When I dial this is says voice mail not available, please choose relevant txt message no.
0735609090000  (or 1 on the end)

If you don't have any voicemail messages and dial one of those 073560 9090000/1 numbers you get that voicemail not available message.

Along with the calls sometimes not connecting issues I posted in the Spusu warning thread, and generally the network signal strength being quite low most of the time, I also had someone I texted say the message came from an unknown number despite me porting my number across and using for a week.

So that just sealed the decision to leave after less than 2 weeks with Spusu. I've switched over to Giffgaff and so far had no issues, haven't had a single call go to voicemail, and now have an actual voicemail number to phone. Edited to add: only checked it once but mobile internet speed considerably quicker on Giffgaff too.
