Best laid plans…

A friend was due to come round for lunch yesterday but has come down with a "plague" of some kind which she doesn't want to give to me and I certainly do not want to receive from her 😮 So we have postponed for the timebeing.

I made good use of my 'free' day though and gave the kitchen a thorough clean. Also reconciled and paid the credit card for this month.

Breakfast yesterday was red onion & cheddar scrambled eggs on ancient grains muffins (no added folic acid). Lunch was Portobello Mushroom Rarebit with Quinoa, Apple & Walnut Salad. I didn't have any chervil so used tarrogan instead. Supper was lentil chilli (leftover from the day before) with rice. There was enough chilli left for a portion for the freezer too.

Today we've had:

for breakfast. I'm determined to use up more of the veg patch berries we've frozen this year. I doubled up on the compote so we can have the same for breakfast tomorrow. Lunch was:

and there's enough leftover for tomorrow's lunch too.

I went to exercise class this morning and popped into our local supermarket on the way back to get a flu jab and draw out some money to pay Handyman when he comes tomorrow.

Our neighbours have lost their house sign somehow (it was on its last legs when they moved in) so all their deliveries are coming to us and all our deliveries are going to them. Very inconvenient 😒 We nearly had a few ton of their hardcore dumped on our drive - I only just got to the driver in time 😰 I can understand how our deliveries are going to them as you can't see our house name from their drive. However, once you get to our drive you can't miss our house name as it's in really big letters and carved into the front gate 🙄 So why their deliveries are coming to us I don't know. I've put a temporary sign up near their drive pointing the couriers with our parcels in our direction and it's working! An £vri courier knocked on the door this morning and apologised for leaving our parcels at the wrong house previously. He is new to the round apparently and was very concerned about the mistake. What refreshing behaviour from £vri - it's not often I get to say something positive about them so I shall say it while I can 😆

I'm just off to round up FDawg. His new bed has arrived and he gets very excited about the unboxing and testing of new beds 🥰
