So far so goodโฆ
It's been an uneventful week so far! And I haven't been able to say that for a while ๐
Meals this week have largely been leftovers but I did make a Cod & Spinach Yellow Curry for supper last night with added green beans from the veg patch. I didn't have enough cod so some haddock went in with it to make enough for tonight's supper too.
I got to gym class on Monday but not yesterday. Mr F has had to get up at 5am this week to get to client visits and I didn't have the energy to keep my eyes open let alone leap around last night. I figured a night in with the sewing bees would be the best remedy. Are you watching it? Whose your favourite to win this series?
FDawg went to the groomer for his bath yesterday. He was filthy! He has taken to digging holes in the garden to sleep in. When I went to pick him up he was flirting with a cocker spaniel so I told him she was only interested because he'd just had a bath and wouldn't have looked twice at him unshampooed. It seems to have worked because I haven't found him sleeping in a hole since ๐
Handyman arrived today and helped me to prune the stone fruit trees. He also did a general tidy up of the garden for me. Then I went off to get my hair cut and for a little wander around the market town. I bought a pair of leather shoes for ยฃ20. They were originally ยฃ70 and I'd been into the shop twice before to try them on. The first time I decided I didn't love them enough at ยฃ70. The second time they'd been reduced to ยฃ55 but I didn't love them enough at that price either. But ยฃ20! Love, love, love ๐ They will help to extend some of my summer wardrobe into the autumnโฆ along with a nice cardi ๐ I've had my eye on a pair of winter boots for some time too and they have just come up in a sale at 62% off so I may order them to see if they live up to expectations. There's also a 40% off sale at my favourite fabric retailers but I have resolved to resist. I have more than enough projects in the wings so I'm banning the purchase of any new fabrics until some of my existing stash has been used up.
On the savings side of things we've just received some charge-back money through our credit card provider. The end of a long and sorry saga involving garden plants and the worst customer service I, or Mr F, have ever received (and that's saying something given recent experience). At one point I received an email calling me a 'greedy pig'. The service was so bad I honestly thought the whole thing was a joke.. until they sent me diseased replacement plants which may now have infected some of our other trees and could wipe out our whole orchard ๐ก I'm beginning to wonder what dreadful thing I did in a previous life to deserve these scoundrels. Am I particularly attractive to rogues and rascals or are there just more of them around these days? Whichever it is, I will not be beaten by them ๐ช
Anyhoo, Mr F has gone to do a workout in the barn so I think a hot chocolate and a re-watch of the Bees is in order.
Happy Hump Day everybody!

Jeez. A e-mail calling you a โgreedy pigโ. Words fail me. Customer service is absolutely non existent these days.

Wow thats shocking 'customer service', is that from a large company or a more specialist one? Hope your trees can survive๐ค๐ผ

The exact words were 'don't worry greedy pig you'll get your ยฃ200 worth'. I laughed out loud when I read it because I thought it had to be a joke - not sure where the ยฃ200 came from though as I hadn't spent that amount with them.
It got much worse Teapot. It was a specialist nursery. I'd read their reviews before ordering but, after the event, discovered that they change their trading name regularly to stop the bad reviews catching up with them. Many people have had similar horrendous experiences.

Full of Beans
I did get to exercise class yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'd found some energy from somewhere ๐คธโโ๏ธ
Lunch wasโฆ
to use up some sulky spinach and an open pot of mascarpone. Supper wasโฆ
using broad and green beans and peas from the veg patch. The peas and beans seem to have appreciated the hot weather this year but the new potatoes, radish, spinach and chard are protesting.
I got through a few hours of ironing in the afternoon. Ironing was one of the things that got neglected whilst I was busy doing legal stuff and I ended up with a mountain of it. I didn't finish it all but it's more of a hillock now and at least I found some pants in the pile - we were approaching a crisis point in that department ๐ฒ I also got a bit of paperwork sorted out - again I'm playing catch up here but at least I'm not missing anything important now like paying our Corporation Tax ๐คญ (it was only a day late).
Mr F is getting ready to meet the Younger Fortunate lads at an off-road event so I am staying out of the way while he's packing - which seems to be taking place in the kitchen for some reason and there are many trip hazards on the floor as a result. He'll be away overnight so I'll have sole control of the remote for the evening.
My plan today is to wash and dry bedding, clean our bedroom and do some Hearing prep work. The veg patch will need watering too. There's soup leftover for lunch and I'll probably just have a bagel or something for supper so it should be an easy day. A nice wind down to the weekendโฆ
Hope you have a good one.

Queen of the remote! ๐ธ ๐
I discovered over the past month when my OH was in hospital/hospice that I didn't know how to turn on the TV or deal wit the myriad of remotes we have for all the gadgets! Didn't actually bother my as I tend to listen to music or audiobooks and can watch both mouseears+ and fruitytv on the tablet! OH was very bothered that I'd not paid attention to his very detailed texted instructions from his hospital bed which I find a huge source of amusement!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! Hi @Fortune_Smiles, just dropping by to say thank you for sharing another uplifting post which demonstrates a great balance of 'need to do' and 'nice to do' items. Living in the moment is definitely the way ahead x

I know how to use all ours RT - I just don't get the chance very often ๐ My ironing/bath tub watch at the moment is Poirot. I've seen all the episodes before of course but, now I'm a sewist, I'm particularly enjoying the costumes this time round - particularly Miss Lemon's.
