  • Thank you beanielou, it was lovely

Managed to sell a school ruby top for a tenner today. It was basically new and chill d got an the kit and then didn't go. In fact that happened twice! So have a few bits I'm trying to sell.

So that another 10 we wont have to pay interest on ever again yey!

Today has been busy, enrollment to college for youngest. Medical meeting for eldest. Then loads of work SE job1. First call was not in, rather unhappy about that. But managed to move the next one up a bit so that helped.
Didn't finish till 4.30 and so rested a bit until the food delivery came.
Tomorrow I need to get back into my do it do it do it ways.
I did clear up the kitchen before going to bed. Always nice to start the day with a clear kitchen, but often kids come down after I've retired and leave stuff out😭

Will make a list in the morning, gotta love a list 👍😘
Might make pancakes for breakfast, 🤔

  • Well today had been and gone! Did sine SEjob 2 today took about 4 hours, on and off. But got very little else done, seemed to have a lot of interuptions. Dd had football. And this evening started to watch the Thursday murder club, which is new on nettyflix
    Can't believe it's nearly September!!!

I watched that on Netflix yesterday! I loved the books when they came out and was so excited to see that on there yesterday when scrolling through 🤩. Did you enjoy it? I thought it was pretty good and lots of A Listers in there too.

I also can't believe it's September on Monday 😒 I demand another August!

Morning. It's the weekend. Nothing actually planned for today. But thinking maybe I should get it in the garden. It's so overwhelming out there that I've been neglecting it further!
Last night I drafted an email to the college to say DD isn't going to go back! She has signed up at another place and is going to do something completely different. Just hope it's the right decision!!
It means my plans to move next summer are now not going to happen and this is what I think has made me feel glum and despondent. Which is not my usual way.
Also the seasons seem to be changing way too quickly.
Also mum selling the family home
    Also not making enough money.

Yep that'll do it! Not much I can really do about any of the above, except the money one.
I need to work out a plan.
SEJob 1, work here was reduced greatly last year when I was very poorly end of last year and I've not picked up any more so earnings are down by 60% or more I should think. SE job2 is ticking along, but not much on the horizon for new work. Still haven't sorted the website and will need to market myself more for this to take off and not sure I have it in me! SEjob3 - not really an income at all from this area, at least yet. I would like this to become a thing rather than a hobby, but I guess I need a plan to focus on.
Or I give up the SE bits and just get a 'proper' job!
SEjob1, I have done for over 22 years, always part time. I trained whilst expecting DS1. It was never my 'career' job, it was what would work with a family. So now I really don't want to continue it, but money is money!!
Finding a 'real' jobI think will also be difficult has I dont have any references!!
Early on 8n my 20s I was a teacher, but I do not want to go back to classroom teaching. Need to think of something possibly around education, maybe??

Anyway laying my thoughts out here whilst I cogitate!
I think getting it in the hot for an hour will do me good. Just need to pick one section to clear, and not look at the rest 😂😂😂

    Morning 😊
I was self employed for 15 years and my first 'proper' employed job after that period was in a school. Very low paid menial job but it meant I got a regular wage (something I'd missed with self employment) and I then had references to take forward to better paid jobs. Every job I've ever been for has seen self employment as a positive on my CV because you have to be self motivated and independent etc, so do yourself a CV if for nothing else other than a boost to your confidence right now. You have many many skills that are wonderful and can help people. In fact if you were closer to me I'd send you a link to a network of people that work in a similar industry to the SE jobs you're trying to do more of, they have a local group where they all 'sell' one another to clients who need skills they can't offer.

If you like reading and you liked that Thursday murder club movie you should look for the series, I thought they were great fun 😃.

  • I think I'll look out for those books. I do love reading. But I don't tend to read fiction much because everything stops  once I get into a book and nothing gets done!

Doing a cv, hmmm, yeah I probably should! So far I have only been looking at job specs, hoping one will jump out at me to apply for!

    Thanks dfw

I did a good bit in the garden, set aside 1 hour, but did 2 and it started raining so came in👍

Just bought the first 2 books on vinted!
  • Sold 2 things on vinted, then bought three things on vinted 😂😂😂 although sold items totalled £40 and spent only a tenner, including postage! Which is good because this Money is earmarked for the mortgage!
Need to get them packed up and sent off on Monday.

Had a good day, gardening, bit of work. Watched the documentary about Brian Wilson from the beach boys on prime. Knew nothing about him. It was very sad seeing how he was manipulated!

Also hoping to have sold a set of drawers for my mum. They should be coming tomorrow. It's only a fiver, but it's more about getting the large items out of the house and being taken away by somebody else!! 🤞They turn up and it would be even better if they decide to take the wardrobe too!! Mum. Had another viewing on her house this morning, but I'm not sure they are even on the market yet, 🙄
