    Thanks all for your suggestions. It seem there’s a cap on the meter that I can’t get off. Any suggestions

  • I've had this situation on numerous rental properties I own. What I do is roll up my sleeve, get an old cloth, reach down and wipe the meter glass clean, then take a torch shine it on the meter and take the reading. It's messy but really quite simple.

    You don't need to remove anything.
    The meter reading is the four black digits that you can almost read in your photo.

    Zero-zero-four-something I think?
    Sponge/wipe off the mud and they should be clearer.

    I have the same meter. The cap/lid is on a hinge at the top, so you'll need something long with a hook or 90 degree bend at the end on it to lift it open using the small lip on the left hand side.
