Difference is that you have no control over the timing of the trade. Not really an issue for funds but for shares it could beivormonee said:They will be aware that the one-off option might be used to circumvent the dealing charge. The only reason I can think of as to why they have set this up this way is that the advance notice might allow them to batch together trades thereby making costs lower for them, making the circumvention feasible.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.2 -
I've logged in to the "new" iWeb, now SW, but apart from the brand name at the top, and slightly lighter colour/shade of the page, I don't think I am seeing anything new. Am I missing something?0

Yes, they have said so, and a footnote on the new website confirms that. The contact phone number and address are the same. I assume that the Halifax Share Dealing Limited address is the one to have on file for executers. I could not find a contact email address, but that may have already disappeared from the iWeb website.Rollinghome said:I assume it will still be managed by HSDL along with their other brands from the same office in Leeds.0 -
Email from Scottish Widows saying I have new messages to view in my inbox.
Log in to my Scottish Widows App, select Sipp acc and view messages & documents.
Cannot log in to app yet and no way to check these messages through the iweb set up.
Anyone else having these issues?

Is it really? I've been using it for so long I probably wouldn't have noticed the new Scottish Widows banner if it hadn't been pointed out to me.Enzo_L said:
That "warning" is a direct copy from the IWeb website. It isn't anything new.Rollinghome said:And the warning doesn't sound too reassuring:
"Please be aware that:
There may be occasions when online access is not available. If this is the case our phone lines will be open for dealing transactions only, but please note that waiting times may be longer than normal. Find out what to do when there is no online access."

What about that "Research" button, is that new? Was called Iweb Tools last time I used it years ago. That bit looks reasonably useful now.

It's likely pretty confusing for the staff there. A few times I've had them answer the phone as Halifax Sharedealing and receive letters with the Halifax heading. LoRs are always in the name of HSDL. There's still a contact link for messages there that they call email under the Help and Guidance link.GeoffTF said:

I wondered if it would now show in the Lloyds app, along with my Halifax accounts and Scottish Widows pension, but it doesn't appear to.
Will it ever? How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0 -

I hope not. I don't want the £100,000s of investments getting mixed in any way with the £100s going through the banks.Eco Miser
