New Virgin fixed ISA

Options
Just tried to open one. Due to weird thing about their sort codes, I'm prompted to register as a new customer even though I have some accounts with Virgin already. I'm being asked to create new user name and password. Does this mean I'll have to log in to 2 different accounts in Virgin to see my different accounts or will they all be visible in one place? Thanks.

Possibly because Virgin Money is now part of Nationwide, as of last year.

Not opened an ISA but a Regular Saver this week - no change with procedure.

Virgin are a pain with their different systems.  Hopefully NWide will bring some consistency.

Plenty of posts coving this on here. There are several different platforms as you can tell from the various options when logging in (it asks you which sort code your account starts with). The current ISA offer is not on the same platform as the current account so yes you will have another set of login details.

It's nothing to do with the takeover.

Nothing to do with the Nationwide takeover - if you go to Virgin's login page, there are different options depending on your sort code and customer number. It's frustrating. I have an ISA and a regular saver and have to log in to two different accounts.

Thanks everyone. I use the Virgin app. Does that mean I would have to log out and in again to see the new ISA? I'm starting to think it would be easier to transfer elsewhere!

No idea about the app I'm afraid - I don't use it. Virgin aren't doing themselves any favours with this system, but presumably they've weighed up the options and decided that losing a few customers is preferable to having to redesign their whole system.

The ISA you are applying for will not show up in the app. It sits on another platform. I have one and don't see it as a great issue as due to the fact it's a fixed term product I will only look at it when it comes to maturity.

    It's from a previous takeover

Yes I'm aware of that. My response was to the suggestion it was linked to the recent takeover by Nationwide.

Got a 5.05% Virgin ISA maturing at the end of the month... debating whether to go with Paragon's 4.28% or just open another Virgin at 4.16%.

Decided for ease I'd just stick with Virgin.  Until it turns out I'd have to register again as a new customer (current ISA is 82 sort code, new issues will be 05)

If I have to sign up as a new customer anyway I may as well do it with the new bank at the better rate!

I understand it's historic based on legacy Clysedale or Yorkshire Bank systems, but it still feels like madness!
