It's frequently suggested in the Press that there are ~ 700,000 pensioners who are entitled to Pension Credit but don't claim it.
I suspect Crapita know that and deliberately target over 75s knowing they can frighten them into buying an (unecessary) licence.

Are there a lot of pensioner evaders?

Just be aware Capita's goons will ask the elderly to sign a 'visit confirmation' or similar which is actually an admission of watching without a licence

The TVL visitors are a fair bit less "problematic" now that their commission scheme has been removed.

I am over 75 and keep getting letters from them and have even had a visit from someone who said I wouldn't be bothered by them any more since I was over 75.

I have since had 4 letters and the present letter states that I am going to be visited by someone on a specific day.

So much for not persecuting over 75's
    None of that is prosecuting...
    I never said prosecuting..

But are you on pension credit? Because you don’t get a free license for just for being over 75 anymore.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

They don't know who is what age unless/until either someone applies for a Free Licence, or the TVL doorsteppers turn up (on the doorstep).

Personally, I prefer that they don't have access to personal info.
