Money Moral Dilemma: Who should pay to change the holiday our neighbours encouraged us to book?

Unless the author of the MMD chooses to come back and answer the myriad of questions, you're not going to get any more information.Lindagreenacre said:
I think the original poster should fill in the details such as how many passengers this ship/boat potentially carries, how many are in this group that are objecting to the poster. Has the poster booked through this group or independently through the holiday company. They seem like they have put this post on and then disappeared. Will they even be reading the responses? Is it all a fake?Pollycat said:
It's a MMD.sheramber said:Any holiday you go on there will be people you do not know. There is no information given as the type of group or the purpose of the cruise, which may or may not be relevant.
MSE strip out almost all the details to provide 'a point of debate'.
I really can't see what the originator of the 'dilemma' gets out of this.
They may or may not be reading responses.
According to MSE, these MMDs are real.

MSE 'skews' the dilemma posed. We know this because years ago there was a MMD over a camera that we were told didnt have insurance. The replies were 'should have got insurance' Then the person who'd sent the MMD in created an account, told the actual story and insurance hadnt been an option they could take for circs outside their control. It changed the whole debate (unfortunately it was so long ago I cant remember details).Lindagreenacre said:

I havent taken any seriously since. I try to stop away from them but I dont always manage that, which is my bad.
In this case it makes no sense 'you cant come on something you could book independently anyway' What are they little kids/gangsters 'you cant come on my street cos I dont like you/get off my turf!' It's nonsensical. If its not nonsensical then the relevant detail shouldnt be missing.

Well I posted a dilemma years ago and someone decided I was lying. I wasn't. But they do alter the narrative to make it slightly more controversialPollycat said:

So what did you get out of submitting a MMD rather than posting the full story yourself?CapeTown said:
