Vodafone roaming in Europe. Included or not

I took out a new Vodafone contract in April of this year and the contract clearly says roaming in 51 European countries. Copy attached.
Vodafone are saying this means that Vodafone roaming is available and I have to buy it. It is not included in my plan. Can anybody advise after looking at this contract if that sounds right or not?

Looks like its included to me

  • What mobile phone call takers say should be taken with a large pinch of salt. It is what the contract states that matters.

The cost of that contract is crazy, did you not look around at the alternatives before committing to a 2 year deal? £10 will get you 50 GB, unlimited mins, EU roaming + Ch Is/Is of Man on a 30 day non contract basis using the EE network with no apparent speed limit on 1p Mobile. I get 100 Mb/s indoors and more than 200 Mb/s outdoors.
  • I’ve spoken to Vodafone customer Services and they are suggesting I go to a shop and show them the contract and see what happens then. So I’ll probably do that next time I’m in town.
  • 15.75 for 30GB & Inclusive Roaming sounds like a good deal to me. Vodafone often (usually?) don’t  include European roaming for free in their cheaper contracts (except in Norway and a few others - where I’m currently typing this message).
Your contract summary looks pretty clear to me. However is that what you actually signed up to?
  • Yes, that is the contract I signed up to

It's very much looks like yours is included. But for certain Vodafone contracts (such as the "150GB Red" plan I currently have) it is not included and I have to buy a data pack or an e-SIM when I go abroad. But I got this plan as part of a 24 month plan which included my new phone, so the airtime element is costing me the equivalent of £5.20 per month, so I guess something had to give!

It still seems a bit stingy though as my wife and son are on ID and O2 respectively with similarly priced tariffs, yet they both get 30Gig of EU roaming.  :/

Sounds like nonsense to me. If it said Roaming was available then I might be tempted to agree with them (but isn't roaming available with every contract at a cost?) but you may need to explain to them the meaning of the word inclusive. If it includes inclusive roaming (all their words) then it it's part of your contract.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

For comparison, here is a screenshot just taken from my Vodaphone app.

Mine clearly doesn't state that it includes "Inclusive Roaming" (because I know it doesn't). But yours does. I think the advisor is talking rubbish.

It sounds to me like you have the Vodafone Red Xtra Euro Roam package.

  • Thanks for that. I’m going into town in the next week or so so I will go to the Vodafone shop.
  • Check your Vodafone app, doesn’t that give details?
