Happy new year everyone!
My first post on the new NSD thread today 1/10
£30 from a return is winging it's way slowly from my credit card to my current account. I didn't want to be tempted to spend on my cc just to get rid of it. Safer in the bank.
Only travel spent yesterday.
Thanks to Little Miss Determined I am on Etsy looking at cute NSD stickers to buy. But not today. No sireee. I have a list Might Want to Buy so will add spending urges to that in 2026 and see how long I can hold out.https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6621582/ynab-robber-needs-help-to-execute-the-plan/p1

2/10 was a no soend day. Yesterday I spent £40.46 on handkerchiefs, a pyrex dish, a second hand vinted top and Vinted rudolf earrings. I had been thinking about all these spends for a few weeks, more than a month in the case of the pyrex but boy do they add up quickly. Purse firmly closed again, hopefully until Wednesday evening now.
A nice day with OH, we went to the Constable & Turner exhibition at the Tate. Half price with my art pass saved £12. I had breakfast at home, we took water and didn't spend anything or stop for tea afterwards. We came back via the overground so we could go on the short section of different track through Primrose Hill station and past the back of the roundhouse. No extra cost on our travel and it was interesting. Works again on 10/1 & 11/1 if anyone else is interested.
We had planned to go out in the evening too but I was too tired and my vertigo wasn't great so we stayed home and watched She Said on 4OD about Harvey Weinstein with Carey Mulligan. A well made drama but heavy topic.

This is really sad of me but I am excited. I found out I can add my MSE signature to my favourites and go straight there which will make it quicker to update my NSD totals in my signature. That sounds a lovely day out, glad you and DH got some quality time enjoying being out and about.
I saw your thread about trying to help your sister with her financial affairs, I have nothing useful to say on there but you must be exhausted and angry and exhausted and worried, sending heartfelt sympathies. You're a star trying to help her and your dad.
We have a couple of 'larger than we ever use' pyrex dishes so if you were thinking of spending money on more, DM me first and they can go free to a good home2 -
Happy New Year.1

PiP and Blackcats thanks for your good wishes, it's very much appreciated. I am bearing up ok. OH said I was calmer than he expected today, not rising to much of the drama and just staying quiet when saying something wouldn't help. Back again tomorrow. No spends today. Flask and water bottle out ready for tomorrrow.
3/10 No spend day today. Little sis filled in the form for universal credit and saved it. She said the mental health team are coming tomorrow so she is going to wait until then to submit.
My father has read the third party form and is thinking about it. We both agree on what his issues are to sort out tomorrow.
Today was a lot more wearing than this sounds!https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6621582/ynab-robber-needs-help-to-execute-the-plan/p1

I am enjoying January's no spend days challenge. It is kind of making me spend in batches. Bought OH a small gift yesterday and also two folders for paperwork after a blitz.
My lovely new tile teapot stand came in the post to replace my broken one, a thing of joy. Also my Vinted T shirt arrived and is as good as new, another good value spend. Apart from underwear snd footwear (and my Christmas T shirt) I am really getting into buying second hand. I want today to be a NSD. Will declare later as it's cold and I don't know what drama today will bring me.
Off to help my family today. Plan is cajole my little sis into opening a basic bank account where she doesn't have debts. Then change the Universal Credit application bank account for payment to that one and get her to submit it. I hope those can be achieved today.
In sort of moneysaving news I can't rebook the dental appointmemt I missed in December until March so that's one bill deferred.https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6621582/ynab-robber-needs-help-to-execute-the-plan/p1

Yesterday was a no spend day. It felt like a real victory. In the morning I managed to make a sandwich fill my water bottle and thermal tea cup and grab snacks and still make my train - phew! I think the NsD thread is motivating me too.https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6621582/ynab-robber-needs-help-to-execute-the-plan/p1
