PCN from National Parking Control for staying 20 min over my 2 hour paid parking slot

I paid for 2 hours of parking but I think exited the car park 2 hours and 23 minutes after I entered so overstayed by 23 min. Didn’t realise they have plate entry/exit system. Anyway just recover this PCN and I’m obviously !!!!!! because I paid for parking just didn’t realise I overstayed slightly. What should I do? Appeal? What are my chances? There was a standard form I used to send to Tesco parking guys (that used to work but didn’t work recently)…is there a template bs form I can send these guys as well that actually gets them off my back? 0

IPC AOS member, so there is no possibility of any appeal succeeding
Most private parking companies measure time on site from entry to exit, so it's underpayment for the time on site, exceeding the minimum grace period allowed in the joint CoP, so I doubt that you would succeed
But that does not mean pay, just be realistic about it1 -
What does “be realistic about it” mean exactly?Gr1pr said:IPC AOS member, so there is no possibility of any appeal succeeding

It means that you wont get them off your back and IPC trade body members rarely cancel pcns , so stop expecting a quick, or easy, cancellation, which I assume is what you are expecting, some magic bullet
Nothing you have given us so far leads me to believe that you can successfully appeal it , because they will state that the pcn was correctly issued, insufficient payment for the duration of the time on site,1 -
Almost all private car parks use ANPR; it amazes me people don't know this and take account of their full stay accordingly. You can't just overstay and then drive past the exit camera expecting all is OK!
But no paying, obviously. Nobody pays. However there's no magic wording. No appeal. Just ignore them and only contact them if you move.
See the pictures in post 4 of the NEWBIES thread. PLEASE don't come back to show us the £170 threatograms (thanks!).
Come back if you get a claim form to defend because you can't ignore a claim.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

2-3 years ago I got a PCN from a Tesco car park. There was this form I used (that I found on the internet…I think on this forum)….i literally copied and pasted the text in the appeal form of the private car company…and then the private car company came back and cancelled the PCN…I tried using the same form 6 months ago (also form Tesco) and didn’t work that time….my point is can I use some standard text I can just copy and paste and send to this company so they get off my back? It worked for Tesco 2-3 years ago…Gr1pr said:It means that you wont get them off your back and IPC trade body members rarely cancel pcns , so stop expecting a quick, or easy, cancellation, which I assume is what you are expecting, some magic bullet

There is an appeal template in that newbies thread in announcements, you could use it and appeal it as keeper
Nothing will get them off your back
Tesco probably used Horizon Parking, this one is neither1 -
Correct it was Horizon parking. And template worked once but not the 2nd time (more recently). It was something along the lines of “I am the keeper and reuse to provide the information as to who drove it…” did something change recently law wise that made the 2nd appeal to Horizon unsuccessful? Will it work on this company that issued this PCN? Any difference between Horizon and them? Well if the appeal (as keeper Like you say) is successful with them that will keep them off my back as they just cancel the PCN.Gr1pr said:There is an appeal template in that newbies thread in announcements, you could use it and appeal it as keeper

They won't cancel. Ignore them as I already advised.
Yes Horizon changed their NTK wording this year. I hope you didn't pay them?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I didn’t pay horizon no but managed to get it cancelled in the end because I had used the car wash service and had found receipt. So that generic template from the newbie page won’t work for this National Parking Control appeal on their website? Why not? Because they also changed their NTK wording like Horizon or something else?Coupon-mad said:They won't cancel. Ignore them as I already advised.
