UKPC/DCL parking charge , court , CCJ, etc

Options
Hi,
would appreciate any advice please.
April 2024 I legally parked at the gym but forgot to put in my car registration once inside.

Got charge from UKPC, called gym , they emailed UKPC asking them to revoke the charge, i also emailed UKPC with that info. Heard no more, thought that was the end of it  until a year later!

the ‘charge’ has increased threefold, threat of court, CCJ etc. emailed as above, heard. nothing for weeks then next thing is a CCJ has been issued as UKPC said I did not respond therefore CCJ issued in default.

I got in touch directly with the court, they asked for evidence of my Response, sent it, a judge interviewed , judgement was set aside and the CCJ was removed, gone, phew, was particularly difficult as am right in the middle of first time house purchase and suddenly I have a bloody CCJ on my file, everything was on hold until it got lifted.

I thought that was the end of it but oh no, a month later and another email this morning from. DCB !
Having reviewed the content of your defence, we write to inform you that our client intends to proceed with the claim”
They are offering a settlement if I call, which I won’t be!
My question is, do I just wait to hear from the court with the ‘directions questionnaire’….?

Yep you are back on track. Keep following the first steps in the Template Defence thread.

If you want to be part of the push to change things in future, it's very important that people like you join us to reply to the new Public Consultation, to tell the Government that:

    a) you have no faith in POPLA or the IAS and that there must be the SINGLE APPEALS SERVICE that the Parking (Code of Practice) Act 2019 *almost* promised. As long as it is independent (and only ONE appeals service, not two involved in a race to the bottom) that will give a real option to resolve disputed cases out of court.

b).  THAT THE ENRICHMENT OF 'DEBT RECOVERY FEES' MUST BE COMPLETELY BANNED. DISPUTED CASES ARE NOT SOLVED BY A THUG THIRD PARTY DEMANDING MORE MONEY AND ENGINEERING A POINTLESS 'PAYMENT PLAN'.

c). Tell them about your experience and that your case proceeded to a claim precisely because (a) and (b) above mean there is no option, no safeguard for consumers EXCEPT court.

Responses are invited to the Consultation now:

Do it in August pleeease! If you want pointers, we will discuss it all in more detail in the coming weeks on that thread so do come back in a fortnight.
