They are still collecting those readings even if they do not populate the customer facing database with them.

Then why do they ask me to submit it manually each month?

That is a very good question, as if you are on Cosy they don't need it for that, are they just asking for the export reading or import as well?

It certainly isn't normal to request this for the half-hour tariffs, or are they billing you as a multi-rate tariff more like E7?

Are you actually accumulating use in two registers? ... if so then I've seen them do this with Octopus Go as well (not Intelligent Octopus Go but the original Go.)
A SMETS2 meter which has happily coped with Agile and Flux in the past. Went onto Cosy in January when the ASHP was fitted and it was fine. The messages from Octopus started in late April - we haven't had a meter reading from you for a while. In order for us to send accurate bills....etc.

I ignored it at first, assuming it was something to do with the gas meter that had been removed in January. Bills came through as normal.  Eventually noticed the monthly index readings were missing for import on the app so submitted one on 1st July. Didn't cause a bill to be generated and they haven't asked again for a reading but there's no reading again for 22nd July when the last bill was issued.

Export reading are all there for the 22nd of each month.
If your bills are correct and being billed using half-hour data then I wouldn't worry about the index readings not being populated on the app or the portal.
My last meter reading on the app is 5th August 2022...

I'm not worried but Octopus annoyingly keep asking me to do a meter reading when there is no real need.

Do your peak and off peak figures clock up separately on the meter, or is it just the total. I'm on Go and it uses R1 and R2 but I've not sanity check to see if that matches the billing total at each rate.

Only one total and Cosy has 3 different rates, cheap, normal and peak.
