This shows an example of while we were on holiday. What could be using so much energy here?

    @Scot_39

i have heard about these online apps so thank you I will give it go.

This is a photo of the test meter when it was installed. We contacted EDF to request access to view the reading but got told that was not possible. This was the only reading that we could see. I had requested any data but only got a photograph of the final reading which showed 625. Is this normal procedure?

You have been lucky with EDF - most suppliers wont fit a second meter in series - becuase the govt doesn't insist they do.

They only mandate the right to an independent test once the old meter removed - and thats chargable if passes.

So sorry dont know what would be normal.

@Spoonie_Turtle thank you I have answered after each question.

Do you have an electric shower? No we have a gas combi boiler one.
What appliances do you have?  Tv x2 virgin media box and wifi, dishwasher (every other day) , fridge freezer , wine cooler, electric cooker, electric induction hob, extractor fan, washing machine (2-3 loads per week)  condenser dryer (2-3 loads per week) , microwave,
How much laundry do you do?  How much cooking and using what appliances? Kettle and toaster used in morning. Evening meal normally hob used but also weekends 2 days takeaways so no cooking.

Things that'll be likely to contribute the most are things that heat or cool.  However motors drawing a constant load, even if not a heavy load, do add up too.
    2 pond pumps?

You probably need to do an audit of your home, going room by room - and outside, garage if applicable, etc. - noting every electronic item you have and how much use each gets.  (Though phone/tablet chargers do genuinely use negligible amounts if they're working as designed.)
I need to do this . Make a log of what we actually use.

    Thanks

Ok, when you're away you've got a background load of almost 400 watts (0.2 on the scale, as it's measuring half-hourly). That 400 watts is also there when you're at home, but increases during waking hours (as you'd expect).
Most of the regulars on this forum are ruthless and get that background load down to less than 200 watts. Some can get it below 100 watts. This isn't your only problem but if you can reduce it, it'll help.
I'll come back to this thread tomorrow (it's bedtime here) but a quick question re. your fridge-freezer and wine cooler.
You say they're fairly new. They will have been assessed for energy use. How many kWh per year are they each rated at? If you don't have the original paperwork, take the make & model and Google it (other search engines are available).
Some refrigeration appliances can use 1000kWh a year (2-3 a day), even when new.

One more thing. Look at your energy use monthly by month through the year. How does the annual chart look?
Your current 14kWh/day is high, but the annual average is more than double that. Is it happening in a particular month? Is eg. winter use much higher than summer?
