You have/had the option to replace your Hive parts with the Nest equivalents.  That might have been a better option than buying the Hive Hub.  Is there time to send it back for a refund?
I will consider this - but I suspect this will involve having to get the receiver fitted by a professional and so I'll probably end up just living with it.  The Hive is not bad - I would probably think it was brilliant if I had never had the Nest one, but I was just pointing out that it has some missing features that are free on the Google Nest device.

For all of Hives faults, at least they are still supporting their old thermostats. Nests are now all but paperweights in the UK. Well the newer ones are still supported, but I imagine not for long seeing as they're not launching any new products for the UK market.

And yes, the hive app is rubbish,  but with the api and stuff like Home Assistant,  it's possible to do anything you can think of.

Thanks I will have to look into that.

We had our Nest Thermostat at the old house since about 7 years ago and it has always worked fine - no issues up until when we left the house a few weeks back - I guess if it's no longer supported eventually there will be issues.
