I doubt that this will be a CCJ in the sense of one that affects your ability to get credit.  This will have been to magistrates court and have been sent for enforcement from there.

Nothing to do with a magistrates court. It's a decriminalised process so the order will have been made by the Traffic Enforcement Centre which is part of Northampton County Court, though their role is simply to note that no appeal or payment has been received in the timescale and apply a rubber stamp.

Unlike a "full fat" CCJ however it won't appear on your credit record or affect your ability to get credit.

    First Anniversary First Post

Youngest received one for over £400 earlier this year. In July of last year he was in the process of moving from London to Yorkshire. At the same time he was doing a residency at Bristol University. In Bristol he was turning off the highway crossing a Bus Lane into a hotel car park and apparently stopped because his way was blocked by a vehicle coming out - he did not realise he had committed an offence. The penalty was £35.

The Ticket went to his old address and they caught up with him this year. He actually changed his address with Swansea together with Insurance once he finally got moved as he was actually floating between THREE addresses.

Before paying he did spend a great deal of time trying to find out how it had happened as the paperwork was very vague - seems there have been a lot of tickets issued at that spot for the same offence and of course by the time he found out it was too late to challenge.

Did he contact the council to dispute the case before paying it off?

Do you have the vehicles V5 in your possession??

    Are all the details 100% correct ? - don’t guess - look.
Have you moved in the period prior to the offence and not updated your V5 details ?

usually the details (address) aren’t correct so all previous correspondence goes there but at certain stages additional checks are made for enforcement hence them “finding” you now

    head to:
