In the spirit of this website i.e. money saving.......... you could work and not actually pay any tax, yet receive a full state pension.
Granted it might be difficult but is possible (as i understand it, if someone wanted to they could work and earn upto £1,047 a month (£12,570 annually) yet not have paid any NI, however because they have earnt between the LEL and the PT they are treated as having paid National Insurance contributions without actually making a payment (infact they wouldn't have paid any Income Tax either).

    So Summary
    35 years of earning £12,500
    Income tax paid = ZERO
    NI Paid = ZERO
State Pension = Yes thankyou very much

Thinking about it, you might be entitled to claim dole money if from time-to-time your made unemployed during your working life, thus you might even receive money when infact you haven't ever paid anything into the system. Champion!

Things like this are harmless, until someone makes a silly knee jerk financial decision. We saw the hysteria over the TFLS. I can imagine there has been some people making adjustments in this year’s ISA funding already, without knowing what’s coming.
In this instance, I haven’t read this rubbish anywhere other than this thread.

With those numbers adding £10,056 into a SIPP is grossed up to £12570 and another £2514 collected from the state each year to late supplement that state pension and any other benefits collected along the way.

Also found this, but this publication spouts so much clickbait nonsense. It's also full of "could"s

That refers to a possible increase of £549 per year, not per week. And only if inflation hits 6% in September or whatever date the SP accounts for.

I am seeing some online commentary recently about a change to the State Pension effective 1st August.  Something about a flat rate £549 for anyone over 60 (obviously who fit the criteria, NI contributions, residency etc) instead of having to wait to 66 or 67....  Please tell me that this is legitimate and applicable to Northern Ireland and not just UK mainland ??  Please please?  also can you still work a couple of days per week and claim this pension.  Desperately hoping that this is legit as I am burned out at 61 with full time work.  Thank you
Just for future guidance, wholesale changes such as this would be publicised by the relevant government departments, rather than conspiracy theory web sites.

That Birmingham Mail article doesn't make much sense either.
    It's dated 28th June 2025, but claims:
The metric of the Triple Lock currently most noteworthy is inflation, which is running at close to six per cent.
CPI hasn't been above 5% since October 2023, and is currently running at 3.4%:
The author doesn't reference any sources, so I'm going to chalk it up the the abysmal state of local journalism.

That article has popped up on my phone a  couple of times. It is quite obviously AI generated nonsense, you can tell by the language used. I mean seriously do you not think there would be something on the official government pages or on your government gateway account if it was in in any way shape or form legit.
It never fails to amaze me the absolute rubbish people will believe. Surely even if you had a moment of thinking it might be true you would check an official source.
