That entire site reads like an AI hallucination. Also, if it was true, the papers would be screaming it from the rooftops - simultaneously claiming credit for having campaigned on behalf of "hard done by pensioners" while decrying the new "budget black hole" and missing "magic money tree".N. I did find a couple of other things where there was a promoting of a petition saying that as of 1st July there was 10k signatures trying to get this debated in parliament. So even if it did get to parliament there would be weeks of wrangling, and if it passed months of preparation. So not going to happen in the next few weeks, that's for sure!!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Having looked at the site a bit more, I think QrizB has hit the nail on the head - the content all reads AI generated and Hal has hallucinated.3 -
If they are promoting it as an idea, then it sounds like someone being very hopeful in terms of getting this to be debated.
Much as I’m sure we would all like to think this could happen, I think we have to be realistic and agree it’s fantasy, sorry

Just for context, £549 a week is more than you'd make in 40 hours on adult NMW. That's how silly a number it is.N. Hampshire, he/him. I suppose only time will tell - or when Martin Lewis comes on tv to tell us that it is all a fairytale!! in the meantime I shall live in hopeGoogling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!2

Just to be clear - Pensions aren't a benefit (had to get that in)A £30,000 "tax free" pension from age 68 could work (which is also inflation protected)You get £30k annual pension but you have to give up free government healthcare (primary, secondary and tertiary care).Might even be cheaper for the government?i think Aneurin Bevan said something like when people fall ill the NHS will get them better and back to work and therefore the tax they pay will fund the NHS (however when you think about it, if your getting a pensioner better, their not going back to work). Just a thought.I have a tendency to mute most posts so if your expecting me to respond you might be waiting along time!0

'The State Pension is described in legislation as a “benefit” in order to root it within the existing social security framework as a statutory scheme paid out of monies in the National Insurance Fund.'
